drive up and back wasnt too bad, last year did it by train. Why oh why did he start with 4 5 1 especially with RL being the one, I am sorry but you cant play him up front on his own. He left it far too late to make the changes but when Barnard came on we seemed a different team. Really feel let down today but know we will bounce back. A great day out again spoilt by the performance and the result. Think Carlisle will do well this season look a hard team to beat. Liked all the youngsters at the end when we were walking back to the car who were milking the result.

That point was put to NA when the team bus pulled into the services at Norton Canes on the way home. He was also asked why we cant defend corners. His refreshingly honest reply was that someone wasn't doing what he had been told to do .Fair play to him for bothering to come over and chat with the fans.

3 stupid lapses in concentration cost us today. Formation wasn't too bad for me, the idea was good and to be fair, especially 2nd half we dominated with it and the majority of the first half (although without the tempo that we had at times in the 2nd). But 3 silly goals given away and were fooked. Annoying really.

Lambert was utter tosh by the way. 451 is fine, if we have a stiker who is in form, but one that looks totally lost of any confidence and touch is of no use to us in a 451 situation.

A long day on the Bingo Bus yesterday. What a shame they didn't let us go behind the goal on the terrace. Our side on view was not brilliant and for some the view must have been rubbish as the stand extended way beyond the pitch.

The atmosphere was ok and it got a bit chilly.

Norton Canes service station was a disgrace our 4 coaches arrived along with Blackpool, Blackburn and AFC Wimbledon and they had decided to shut the burger bar (I had promised my 8yr old one as he had been a good boy). The tea at Costa was also rubbish I asked for a splash of milk and got 1/4 pint.

We were just pulling away as the team were getting off the bus - no flight back for them. Would have been interesting to see if they were going to eat there as the food looked very ropey and not fit for sportsmen.

Oh the game - not a good first half. Thought Dan should have ben subbed at half time or not at all. Was crying out for Barnard and Connelly to come on as soon as possible. Whilst NA said 433 it looked like 451 and Rickie is not in the right form/shape/mindset to be the 1 up top. Really though we would nick the point at the end and on balance I thought we deserved it.

Likewise, was on the Bingo Bus and was a long day.

With the exception of Davis who was not to blame and Harding who was dreadful, thought the rest were just nothing special.

It is alright blaming formations but we got caught out for the first goal, the own goal was comical and the third was a free header from a set piece - I cannot believe a goalkeeper and a centre half(Adkins and Crosby) cannot sort out our vulnerability from corners.

I thought Carlisle just about deserved to win but not because they were that good but mainly due to our defending. We also waste so much good possession and make it much harder for ourselves.

Today was another opportunity for 3 points and they blew it - no excuses for the pitch or the weather as conditions were almost ideal for football.

I'm staggered at the downbeat comments on our performance. We started superbly then Carlisle score with their first attack, then we gift them the second - so they've had one shot and gone 2-0 up. Doesn't make ours a bad performance suddenly. The passing was quick and crisp, Lallana and Chaplow outstanding. Then of course we get one back and look good for a second, but decide to defend pathetically at a corner. Stupid lapses cost us in a game from which we really should have got at least a point. How many times have we said that since relegation from the Prem? Very, very dispiriting but those saying we played terribly are wrong. Sometimes people are incapable of looking past the scoreline and assessing the overall performance. It was far from perfect, but we were far from atrocious, like at Huddersfield.

This is good to know then, but for a lot of the imminent depression around here you have to blame that arch-whiner Merrington.

I would say at times we played as badly as we did at Huddersfield!

Whilst Rhadi is good in the air - he lacks pace and Carlisle exploited that on several occasions.

I agree to a lot of what was said above - but we looked less than composed when we started hoofing it to Lambert again because no one was free for the pass.

I still believe we will be in the mix come the end of the season - but I wonder who else will be?

I did not go to the game yesterday so I obviously cannot comment too much on the effectiveness of the formation. However, last season some of the best games we played were using the 4-5-1 formation and as I have said before, this is a very worthwile formation with the right players in the right positions. Playing with three centre midfielders, none of who have a great deal of attacking creativity and a lone striker who is unfit is not going to work. If we were going to go with this formation IMO we would have been better off playing Puncheon or Lallana behind RL and sacrificing one of the three centre-midfielders.

As I said though I did not go to the game so maybe it didn't work, but as Turkish said you cannot give away 3 sloppy goals and expect to win. Hopefully the team will come out all guns blazing against Peterborough.

First have to say what a great weekend in Carlisle.

Had a great laugh on Saturday night.

On to the football.

We have played worse than that and won. Some of our football was crisp and sharp but yet again we cannot defend.

You cannot give any team three simple goals like that and expect to win.

Carlisle were at best average and I am getting fed up us losing to teams like this.

Their boss said after the game that they had beaten this seasons champions!

It's about time we started to play like champions elect every week not just when we feel like it !

Finally, someone who saw the game for what it was - whoever said we at times played worse than at Huddersfield really is delusional. We were utterly outplayed in that game and barely created two chances! The Carlisle performance was in a different stratosphere. And I don't remember us hoofing it up to Ricky at all - in fact I remember thinking how much our 'keep it on the deck' style simply doesn't suit him. His is an aerial threat and he doesn't have the first touch to contribute much to our crisp build-up play.

I also had a superb night out in Carlisle. Ended up in the Cumberland Inn (I think?) having arse pinched by slappers on a hen night while trying to watch the Haye fight.
