Oh my, just as you think the beebs coverage of the FL couldn’t get anymore crap, they shove this sh1t on our sets. Murty and Rosenior’s voice over the goals are disgustingly cringe worthy. Out of the three Murty appears to be the only one with any football sense. As for the new slap head presenter, he is cack and dull and goes for the laid back approach, which he just fails. Similar to FL show’s section ‘texting and email Lizzie/Izzie’ it has that ‘childish feel as if the viewers know **** all about football.

SkySports FL review remains to be the only half decent coverage out there.

The presenter is that James Richardson bloke who use to do Italian footie on C4 back in the day. The bloke back then was quality especially reviewing the papers. However he has been dealt a real sh1t storm with this show. It was a bit better when it was on a the start of the season but they treat us like idiots. It is cringeworthy to watch.

James Richardson is an excelent presenter. Whatever the football coverage, this site always has someone slagging it off. There seems to be some unwritten rule amongst posters here that any football programmes on tv must be 100% Saints and not even mention any other teams.

Did you watch it? He looked incredibly disinterested.

James Richardson is easily the best anchor in football media today, albeit that isn't saying much. I recommend you listen to the excellent Football Weekly podcast he hosts (during the latest episode of which ironically, they read out an email complaining about the lack of coverage of Saints and the rest of the panel gave him a right digging about that now being his 'area of expertise'). His knowledge about Serie A is encyclopaedic and although on the podcast he is happy to anchor and play the foil to the 'boffins' like Jonathan Wilson. his analysis of the game is both vastly superior and more reasoned than 99% of the idiots on the liked of MOTD and Sky. Literally. Richard.

That said, he did look uncomfortable last night, which I put down to a combination of him having gotten more used to the format of radio than tv, and the **** poor quality and direction of the show as a whole. BBC seem convinced that this jokey 'matey' approach to football coverage below the Premier League is the way to go.

James Richardson certainly has the quality and professionalism to turn it up several notches and and deliver a mature, knowledgeable and worthwhile programme. Whether the production team are prepared to let him is another matter entirely.

I think generally MOTD is excellent and they never mention saints.

LOL he is not a good presenter, I'm not on about Saints coverage, more of the whole shows 'script and inter links' he was shocking and looked like he couldn't be arsed.

I'm never too fussed about coverage of saints, just the ****ty presenting and I had to cringe when Leroy Rosenior did his 'transfer knowledge' part.

What a load of ****.

As I only wanted to see the goals I thought it was absolutely fine, though James Richardson, who is usually very assured and occasionally amusing, looked at best "distracted".

I don't have a problem with the casual tone of the programme, but the nature of MOTD, MOTD2 and the Football League Show have been annoying me for a while. Having said that I'm pleased that the chat on MOTD has taken on more of a tactical nature in recent weeks.

I also thought the trailer for the "inside the game" stuff looked very interesting, though now they've given notice that they're doing it and focusing on some elements of gamesmanship, I suspect the local FAs will be on the phone telling them to pull the feature as its not in line with their Respect campaign or responsibilities to coaching kids, or some nonsense like that.

I watched the first 10 mins or so then got so bored I switched off and that was not becasuse of the lack of Saints coverage, just the poor quality in general.

What made me laugh the most was the programme description after A Question of Sport had finished. The voice over guy said, coming up all your local 'grassroots' football... Grassroots! I know its not the Premier League but describing the whole of the Football League as 'grassroots' is a bit of an insult!

I have now watched it and I know I seem to be in a minority of one here, but it was OK. Not great, but watchable. I certainly couldn't get angry about it like some people seem to be.

I'm not angry, but I can see why some people would be. The beeb have created a programme to try and gain tens of thousands of viewers from across the football league, and put f*ck all effort into it.
