Seems that although I for one was pretty uninspired by the selection of Adkins, we got a lucky escape when Senor Cortese swept Micky Adams' CV into the bin because he was unlucky (that's an Office reference for anyone who hasn't seen it)....

Shame, I was looking forward to another trip to Sheffield next season.

To be fair, he has had a successful career. I still think he is the only manager to get promoted from all three divisions with three different clubs. He was genuinely successful at Brighton, Fulham and Leicester.

Seems to be one of those managers that have lost their mojo, but his appointment at Sheffield United was a homecoming, he is a lifetime Blades fan so had a bit of romance to it. It's a real pity he seems to have completely guffed it up.

He's done well at all his other clubs I think.

Must have been tough at Fratton yesterday, which fans hated him more!!!??

Was on Sheff Utd message board last night. **** those boys are all slitting their wrists!

Whats happening at Sheffield United is not Adams fault. No manager this year has managed to get them consistent. I know you will all point to the stats saying they havent won under him etc etc BUT they actually start the game very well but as soon as they concede all their confidence is shot and they get nervous. It a similar situation to when we got relegated. Played some good football, couldn't score then soon as we conceded we were cack.

Totally ridiculous to suggest he would not have been successful here.

Do you not follow football on a regular basis? Are you totally aware of the situation at Sheffield United?

Many, many managers have been very successful at one club but at another club it just does not work out. Surely you have not forgotten Redknapp, and, to use a current example that you are surely aware of, Roy Hodgson. There are so many obvious examples though that I am wondering why I am bothering to make the point.

Good luck, Micky.

many examples of how right you are, many managers are right for some clubs but wrong for others, strachan was great here, i doubt if coventry or boro fans would have the same opinion

tbf, its about time Sheff Utd got what was coming, they havent been playing well for ages, just theyve seemed to grind out results, but i think the older guys in their team are now past it, and havent really bought very well pre adams.....saying that, he should still be doing better than he has done.
