alwill Posted 20 March, 2011 Share Posted 20 March, 2011 Charlton (A) MK Dons (H) Lost 2-0 Away Sept Charlton (H) Leyton Orient (A) Drew 1-1 Home Aug Rochdale (A) Lost 2-0 Home Sept Bristol Rovers (H) Won 4-0 Away Aug Brighton (A) Drew 0-0 Home Dec Hartlepool (H) Drew 0-0 Away Feb Brentford (A) Lost 2-0 Home Dec Plymouth (A) Lost 1-0 Home Aug Walsall (H) Lost 1-0 Away Mar Looking at our previous results against our remaining fixtures looks very concerning to me. Yes we were in poor form at the start of the season when alot of these fixtures were played and alot has changed since then. BUT results dont lie and this demonstrates the challenge ahead for us to get second place. I havent attended most of these games so im not sure whether its the style of play these teams use or if its just bad luck on our part. Is anyone else concerned by this? S-Clarke Posted 20 March, 2011 Share Posted 20 March, 2011 You can't really compare the results from the start of the season to how we will do now. (Leyton Orient/ MK Dons/ Rochdale etc) The games under Wilkins were a total write-off for many reasons, but we're now a different kettle of fish. Appy Posted 20 March, 2011 Share Posted 20 March, 2011 The Walsall game was a freak result, we played better that day than most games this season.
um pahars Posted 20 March, 2011 Share Posted 20 March, 2011 Is anyone else concerned by this? I am now!!!! Thanks for being the party pooper!!!! LOL Only one win against 9 of those teams is a very good spot, but as others have pointed out a few of them were in our worst period of the season (plus it gives us a chance to avenge those slip ups). saints-cris Posted 20 March, 2011 Share Posted 20 March, 2011 At Home you gotta fancy us against most sides really. 6 of those games werent under Adkins anyway..
positivepete Posted 20 March, 2011 Share Posted 20 March, 2011 A reminder of those results will ensure no complacency in the squad, and will more than likely act as a spur for revenge. I would be worried if I was those teams, we are not likely to repeat those performances.

They are pretty much the reason Brighton are so far away from us IMO.
VectisSaint Posted 20 March, 2011 Share Posted 20 March, 2011 Bristol Rovers (H) Won 4-0 Away Aug And the Gas are now beginning to pick up points as well. Seriously, you really cannot read anything into these results. Apart from Charlton of course the teams we played away we are now playing at home (and vice versa), several games were pre-NA and so on. Maybe Orient was a better result than we thought at the time. I really think we should have the mentality to go into every one of these games believing we can win (without the complacent look that we seem to have sometimes, such as 1st half yesterday). Toughest games out of that lot, Orient (A) and Brighton (A), hopefully we can get a draw in these.
