Raven on the wing Posted 10 December, 2008 Share Posted 10 December, 2008 In two sub appearances of ten minutes and just a few minutes did he actually touch the ball ? I know you introduce a player gradually but can we afford that sort of luxury ?
paris Posted 10 December, 2008 Share Posted 10 December, 2008 Another interesting post....
Bailey Posted 10 December, 2008 Share Posted 10 December, 2008 Great post. And yes, he touched it after coming on against Palace. Got tackled shortly after mind.
Hatch Posted 10 December, 2008 Share Posted 10 December, 2008 That's given Mr Lowe a 'pay per touch salary scheme' idea.

NickG Posted 10 December, 2008 Share Posted 10 December, 2008 yes touched in a few mins after coming on in his first game. No idea what he will be like but give him a chance ffs. Hardly unusual for young players to start with few brief appearances.
ottery st mary Posted 10 December, 2008 Share Posted 10 December, 2008 From sensible logic will need at leat 2/3 full reserve games as is yet to attain full fitness let alone match fitness. Apparently it is the same with Pulis who will need 3/4 reserve games.. It has been very premature putting either player anywhere near the first team and a strange decision by The management/coaches....Both were out for some time with injuries and there is still concern that they may not be good enough for our high class squad. All info supplied by a highly respected tea lady...Before you ask.....Original estimate way back was that if good enough and if obtaining match fitness may be ready for xmas. team-saint Posted 10 December, 2008 Share Posted 10 December, 2008 well gasmi has played quite a few times for the reserves and has scored for them so i would expect it to be time for him to move up to the first team, especially as he is supposed to be very good. ottery st mary Posted 10 December, 2008 Share Posted 10 December, 2008 Correct me If I am wrong he has had 2 games and not full 90....Really no match fitness other than training.....Even for first team usually at least a couple sub fo15/20 to bring in side for pace etc.....There is no guarantee he is any better than what we have... Pulis more time required.
Fowllyd Posted 10 December, 2008 Share Posted 10 December, 2008 I think he may have picked the ball up after another player was fouled. Does that count?
ottery st mary Posted 10 December, 2008 Share Posted 10 December, 2008 I think we ugently require more games from somewhere or behind closed doors matches, otherwise our players returning from injury will not get anywhere match fit when required... Training alone will not bring these players up to the high level our first team have attained.
benjii Posted 10 December, 2008 Share Posted 10 December, 2008 He provided a lollypop and tackle receipt on Monday night. I remember it well. Flashes of Bleidelis. It was superb.
saint_stevo Posted 10 December, 2008 Share Posted 10 December, 2008 Should have been given 20mins monday night IMO. Why not? Losing already, creating nothing. Bloody go for it
ottery st mary Posted 10 December, 2008 Share Posted 10 December, 2008 I would loan both Gasmi and Pulis to Aldershot,Bournemouth/Yeovil/Exeter now for 4 weeks...Then they get match fit and someone can see them play a full competitive game......This should have happened when both attained fitness to get games due to insufficient Reserve games......You can not put untried untested LEAGUE 1/2 STANDARD PLAYERS STRAIGHT INTO A TOP SIDE LIKE SAINTS, without games or knowing what they are made of.......Neither has played properly for 5/6 months and Pulis may never have played professional football before....Not sure about Gasmi.......Are these two 17/18 years of age? saint_stevo Posted 10 December, 2008 Share Posted 10 December, 2008 not sure you can loan a loanee......as Gasmi is on loan agree with Pulis though, hope he is the evil dirty tackling bugger we need in the middle

Just in case the team needs the rugged hard b..tard type me and the Missus are going to Burnley........Just in case I have asked her to take her Rugby Boots from Southampton Uni days......She might get a game. She could show Mighty Mac and Robbo how to score......Look how she got me at The Top Rank in my hey days. COYR
