SO16_Saint Posted 3 May, 2014 Share Posted 3 May, 2014 Hi all. Can anyone recommend anything to help cure my PC freezing issue? It's a relatively new (18 months) HP touchscreen pc running win7. We only use it for Internet and basic office uses, so nothing major. Thanks!
hutch Posted 3 May, 2014 Share Posted 3 May, 2014 Two things: 1. Go to the HP website and let it automatically check your laptop for latest updates including drivers 2. Make sure the air vents are not blocked causing overheating issues.

Bearsy Posted 3 May, 2014 Share Posted 3 May, 2014 Are you sure it's definitely a touchscreen? Try using the mouse.
SO16_Saint Posted 3 May, 2014 Author Share Posted 3 May, 2014 Haha! It freezes doing anything. ..or nothing! It's frozen now for example, trying to get Chrome ooen. The mouse is moving but not doing anything, and the clock still says 10:03 Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk

SO16_Saint Posted 3 May, 2014 Author Share Posted 3 May, 2014 Try running your anti virus and a spybot killer Done a quick scan using MSE. No problems. What else would you suggest? Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk

I'm assuming it's an SSD disk as it's a touch screen, but I've seen this problem with them before - sounds like a failed disk, or one that is about to fail IMO. When a system becomes unresponsive with everything, but you can still use the mouse....then it's often a sign that you've got spyware/virus, and if it's not that....a faluting hard disk.
