UpweySaint Posted 8 August, 2014 Share Posted 8 August, 2014 As we all expected .... "Southampton have sent England Under-19 centre-back Jordan Turnbull to Swindon on a season-long youth loan." The9 Posted 8 August, 2014 Share Posted 8 August, 2014 Also here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/28674956 I think we've decided that we're keeping Stephens as right back cover, he was with them last season.
Saint Charlie Posted 8 August, 2014 Share Posted 8 August, 2014 Makes sense as long as he plays. I think Stephens could be our 4th CB this season and can also cover at RB. Has looked a good player whenever Ive seen him, and the Swindon manager was determined to get him back there again so he must have done well. saint-crinny Posted 8 August, 2014 Share Posted 8 August, 2014 Possibly suggests that we are confident of a new CB deal being completed? The Swindon chairman had said that this deal wouldn't be done until we had sprted out a few deals ourselves i think. Maybe i'm just desperate and reading too much into this one though... saint1977 Posted 8 August, 2014 Share Posted 8 August, 2014 Swindon supporting colleague saw him (Jack Stephens) play quite a few times last season and said he was superb and the comments from Cooper and Power suggested they were keen to take him on loan again. I'd keep Stephens this campaign but hope Turnbull makes the same positive impact at the County Ground that Stephens did.
Professor Posted 11 August, 2014 Share Posted 11 August, 2014 The OS looks a bit desperate in trying to create a 'feel-good' factor by the PR spin on Jordan Turnbull's first game for Swindon. Good luck to the lad, and I'm sorry he got booked in his first game, but how Swindon do is irrelevant to Saints as are the fortunes of any other club that has a Saint's player on loan. Saint Charlie Posted 28 September, 2014 Share Posted 28 September, 2014 Turnbull and Jack Stephens played together at CB in a 3-0 away win at Barnsley yesterday. Swindon are 3rd at the moment and these two are the no 1 CB pairing. Good news for Saints if they continue to play well and play alongside each other. They play some good stuff down there, and for them to be playing together, with the team doing well is going to be great for their development.
