del boy Posted 13 January, 2009 Share Posted 13 January, 2009 Beaten by Watford 1-0 tonight, and the score was about right. Very disappointing I thought, only the goalie keeping us in it at times - sounds familiar. Why does it always look as though the opposition want it more? Papa Shango Posted 13 January, 2009 Share Posted 13 January, 2009 Yeah bit disappointing really, nobody really stood out or looked anything special for us which is slightly worrying seeing as we are relying so much on our young players.
benjii Posted 13 January, 2009 Share Posted 13 January, 2009 We have the best Academy in the history of Academies. Plato would cream himself if he saw our Academy. I suggest you watch the match a bit more closely next time as I can assure you we certainly would not lose a match 1-0.
Minsk Posted 13 January, 2009 Share Posted 13 January, 2009 And not to mention the fact we had two players with FIRST TEAM experience playing. I wonder how many of the Watford team are first team regulars?
Saint_clark Posted 13 January, 2009 Share Posted 13 January, 2009 I heard a rumour that Henderson is f*cked off at being demoted from Reserves manager and first team coach to youth team manager, and as such is putting little effort in.
Big Ron fan Posted 14 January, 2009 Share Posted 14 January, 2009 Beaten by Watford 1-0 tonight, and the score was about right. Very disappointing I thought, only the goalie keeping us in it at times - sounds familiar. Why does it always look as though the opposition want it more? Probably because the Dutch 'revolutionary coaching concept' has also infested the youth. Isn't part of it that all teams throughout the club have to play the same way? Matt SFC Posted 14 January, 2009 Share Posted 14 January, 2009 Hull beat Arsenal, does that mean Hull are better than Arsenal? No! It's just one game and doesn't mean our academy is inferior to theirs. Just look at the players we've produced over recent years compared to what they have produced. Some people need to stop looking for a story where there isn't one.
krissyboy31 Posted 14 January, 2009 Share Posted 14 January, 2009 Henderson's comments made interesting reading. "They were very clever in midfield and used the ball to good effect, moving it at a decent tempo throughout." In other words: Not f@nnying around making 20 passes, when 10 will do, making pretty patterns around the park aimlessly with no end product. Maybe our revolutionary coaching setup were taking note? Let's hope so!
The Tango Man Posted 14 January, 2009 Share Posted 14 January, 2009 Good to see Keegans name on the team sheet though...
ottery st mary Posted 14 January, 2009 Share Posted 14 January, 2009 The yuf team watching too many first team games this season....Just realised, my mistake, they were actually playing in those games.
krissyboy31 Posted 14 January, 2009 Share Posted 14 January, 2009 Not surprised they're not as good this season. If the 17, 18, and 19 year olds are first team, what are the u19s....15? May be true for U18 league matches but not for the team that was put out last night. Gobern, McLaggon and Racine have all played or been involved with the first team and the remainder are regulars in the Ressies.
