Hello from a Bristol City fan

Ahead of our forthcoming game I’m putting together the opening post for our forum’s (One Team in Bristol, https://www.otib.co.uk/?_fromLogin=1) match thread, which will be posted the day before the match.

I would like to include some perspectives from your fans, so if anybody would like to share info please do, anything would be appreciated, fans thoughts about the game, players who have represented both clubs, tales from when we’ve met previously, a fans view on your season, etc.

The last time we did anything other than lose a league game at AG, Pink Floyd were number one with Another Brick in the Wall.

Given our start to the season, I’m not expecting that to change next week.

From memory, the following played for both, and as a spoiler alert for next week would probably be fucking shoe-ins for our starting 11 right now:

Richard Dryden

Paul Tisdale

David Howells 

Russell Osman

Stern John 

Joe Jordan 

Dryden played for BCFC directly before joining SFC, and the others all joined BCFC directly after playing for SFC.  Make of that what you will...

That was probably my first visit to Ashton Gate, unusually a Friday night match a few days before Christmas.

Jumped on a coach outside the Warrens, remember it being cold and snowy - won 1-0, Channon I think.

We're due a win then although i remember a good win for us there in 2003 league cup, bogey ground

My first away game in the FA Cup 1967. Lost that as well. I was 9 and struggled to understand why the crowd was full of people who sounded like pirates!

Probably my old person memory but I could have sworn blind until I was blue in the face that we signed Dryden direct from Exeter. 15 year old me probably wasn't paying enough attention.
