davefizzy14 Posted Thursday at 18:48 Posted Thursday at 18:48 The main thing was we dug in and battled hard to win the game 2-1 last night. Both Leo's (absolutely sublime) and Jay's (very well taken) goals were class 😊 hoping we can take this into Saturday - COYR 😊 2

The spectre of a relegation battle is looking less likely and that takes the pressure off and confidence can't be measured by Xg or any other statistic. Win again against Sheff Wed and we could be on a charge up the table.

saintant Posted Thursday at 22:19 Posted Thursday at 22:19 Amazed that some fans are suggesting this win may be a turning point. The turning point will come when we ditch 3 centre backs. Until then the same old crap will continue. 1

rallyboy Posted yesterday at 09:14 Posted yesterday at 09:14 (edited) When I first saw the goal I wondered what the fuck he was up to, then you see the replay. Their guy timed his run perfectly and got the most delicate touch - had Gav clattered him with everything it would have been a penalty and red card. Maybe he could have been quicker off his line, but for me it was not the terrible howler it first looked - like passing the ball to the opposition in your own box. Just revisited - yeah, he could have been quicker and more solid, but great touch from the striker. Edited yesterday at 09:20 by rallyboy common sense 3

I guess it could be argued that the bit in bold alone is a "howler", given it's a fundamental goalkeeping necessity to be in the right place at the right time? Edited yesterday at 09:18 by trousers 1

I note that you do not adhere to a blame-free culture, come across as rude, and being a sledger makes you quite confrontational, with little tolerance for differing views as outlined on the website. Please keep discussions on-topic and civil, as abusive behavior is not welcome here. Having supported SFC for a long time, I understand that goalkeepers cannot save every shot or reach every ball, as sometimes the opposition gets to the ball before a Saints player. I believe many players would have scored in the same situation against other teams. 1

But no one is slating his entire career on just that single misstep. This is his game, look at all the goals he's conceded over the last 3/4 years and it will make your eyes bleed. There is no credible reason for him to be a GK. 1
