New Football Laws

Heard on the radio that it is likely (if not confirmed) that few laws are coming from 1 July (and possibly implemented at the World Cup).

If I heard it right.....

• time bound with throw-ins
• Time bound with subs
• Time bound with corners
• Time bound with goal kick from the 6 yard box
• VAR can intervene for 2nd yellows
• VAR can intervene for the awarding of a corner.

Possibly others.

 

Not sure about the additional VAR suggestions, but I guess VAR is not going away. But I do like the time restrictions...so much is wasted by a player plodding from the other side of the pitch to take a corner in order to waste time.

Wish they'd just use a big electronic clock. Starts at 45.00 and only counts down towards 0.00 when the ball is in play. Simple.

Roll around like you've been shot. Order some crutches to help take 5 mins to limp off of the pitch. Do what you want. That clock ain't moving until the game starts again.

Loads of other non-traditional stuff is in the game nowadays. Why not this? If it means a half would then take 60 mins then just cut the clock to 40 mins of playing time (or whatever - it would end time-wasting and that's what most fans want).

Plus at 0.00 the game ENDS. No added time if a 'big team' is losing.

Agreed, but 45 minutes per half is too long. Have the clock set a bit shorter, since actual ball in play is shorter than that (ignoring unnecessary stoppages).

so stop the time wasting on the left hand but give it back with the right,football is meant to be 90 minutes of play so play it and dont forget the poor little darlings are allowed umpteen subs so i dont see the problem.However it will never happen as pep will stick his whining nose in and that will be that because as we know city are untouchable.

VAR for corners in ridiculous. Which big team conceded a goal from a corner that shouldn't have been for this to be considered.
