Woking had a rather challenging week. Jermaine Defoe seemed to have had a decent end to the season and they were looking to build a squad for top 8 this season. He walked out along with his assistant, Paul Bracewell IIRC, saying that the job had become an eye opening exercise.

Got the sense they’d fallen out with the DoF but a kick in the teeth for Woking fans whatever the reason.

Not sure what you mean by ‘as good a job’? Is that at being a GK or at being part of a group of players that gel? My argument was that the latter is as, if not more important. Having said that, I do think that Ramsdale could quite easily re-integrate himself into the team dynamic, however Peretz experienced last season where a real team identity developed under Eckhert.

Because it's obviously wrong. Most pro footballers play in lower leagues or leagues in countries where players don't earn a fortune. They earn amounts that are easily obtainable to people with decent careers (and who will have much more prolonged earning power).

Well we paid 5 times more than his market value so wouldn’t surprise me if his wages were too

Which is why I said relative to the country they play in - even in poorer countries players earn more than many can dream of. Then there’s players like Mané who earns enough to look after an entire village back in his native country.

Do you know what the average league 2 player earns in the UK? Apparently it’s about £2000/week - in terms of the general demographic, the average pay for ‘Joe Bloggs’ is about £750/week so there’s plenty in the UK who would fall well below what even a lower league pro player earns.
