A Protest Idea

I know there are plenty about but why not all travel up to Salisbury to watch ex Saint Nick Holmes and his little team of triers? They get around 1,500 per match and the stadium only holds 3500. You could all turn up in your Saints shirts and sing positive songs. I bet it gets on TV.

Do they have pubs in Salisbury?

Best idea yet.

Why not? At least we can make a statement and show support to another local side.

Salisbury or maybe Eastleigh?

I think so, but more importantly skateboards and rollerskates are more than welcome.

Beer, football and skateboards...i'm in...

I'll do the website for you then...you just need a catchy name now...

Shame you've already regsitered...as setting up a protest would serve as a good way to completely backtrack on a moral highground previously taken about not paying the five pounds required to become a full member...

What is it you are saying here?

A catchy name won't be hard to come up with. How about, "Saints fans that Watch Salisbury Instead as a Sort of Protest Because Things are Quite Rubbish at our Place."?

Nice idea but I don't think it will work.

I go to watch Salisbury quite regularly when Saints are away.

I don't think there is another day for the rest of the season that both the Whites and Saints play at home on the same day, apart from Easter Monday but Salisbury kick off at 1500 and Saints kick off at 1945.

Salisbury asked before the fixtures came out that if possible that they didn't play at home on the same day as Saints as a few of the Saints stewards also work at Salisbury games too and help train up the Salisbury stewards too.

I'm saying if you had taken a moral highground about not wanting to pay the five pound fee to become a full member and were scrabbling around for an excuse to join up because you secretly love the website despite calling everyone mongs...well setting up a protest would be a good excuse to completely backtrack on your moral highground...seeing as you'd need more than three posts a day to set up the protest...of course it would actually end up costing you much more than five pound in the long run (five pound fee, costs incurred for setting up protest website, your own sense of pride, etc.) but you could come out of it looking like a bit of a hero...AND get to post on the website you heart so bad on the sly...

But you paid up the fiver without any complaints so i guess this scenario wouldn't apply to you JFP...

---

Yeah that name might need some work...

The idea's got mileage but...why travel 30+ miles to protest, Eastleigh is the sensible destination.

I love Nick Holmes as much as the rest of us 'oldies' but tbh I don't want him as manager down here and if everyone turns up at Salisbury singing "There's only one Nicky Holmes..." it might just send out the wrong message!

We'd probably get more local media attention at Eastleigh...and we'd get the chance to give our respects to p*rtsmuff's training ground en route!

Pubs are far better in Salisbury. I once tried a Saturday night out in Eastleigh many years ago and it was even worse than Slough. Seriously.

Do we get to meet Nineteen Canteen in the boardroom afterwards?

I am not trying to alienate your skateboarding contribution to Saints bid to avoid the drop but would like Saints roller skating fraternity to be included in there somewhere.

Apologies.

Saints Go Marching to a few pubs and then watch Salisbury then skate somewhere halfcut Protest?

I bet it doesn't get anywhere near TV. Nobody outside of our fan base gives a sh!t about our current predicament. The ONLY protest that will work is if the majority of ST holders don't renew, but unfortunately there will be plenty who will still renew at early bird for the sake of saving £50 or so.

I have ammended the idea to involve wearing nun uniforms now. Does that sway you at all?

Still showing as 3pm on the OS fixture list, has it been moved?
