Bourno Posted 17 February, 2009 Share Posted 17 February, 2009 £28 seems a bit steep, especially as they put us on the side. They are running a promotion for their season ticket holders to bring friends for a tenner. So they may get a decent crowd. A pity they didn't take a leaf out of Norwich's book and also give us the discounted tickets. Moan over...I bought my ticket.
londonsaint1604 Posted 17 February, 2009 Share Posted 17 February, 2009 Ticket prices are getting f*cking ridiculous now. Was it QPR that were charging £30? That was for a week night game as well I think.
explorer saint Posted 17 February, 2009 Share Posted 17 February, 2009 Right thanks for this I have a mate who is a ST holder at Ipswich. Will get him to get me a ticket and have to stay stum in the home end but better than paying an extra £

del boy Posted 17 February, 2009 Share Posted 17 February, 2009 Its a bit steep to say the least, you could buy our club instead for that sort of money

They've spent a lot of money and have nothing to show for it. Same as most teams in the CCC. Money isn't what you need, Swansea have shown that. What you need is a golden striker like Scotland. There's only 1 guaranteed formula to exit the CCC, hard case defense, really good striker that scores goals for fun and not money.

Mole Posted 17 February, 2009 Share Posted 17 February, 2009 Decide a cut off point and if any club charges more don't go. You should be paying no more than £20 to watch football at this level imo.
the saint in winchester Posted 17 February, 2009 Share Posted 17 February, 2009 Right thanks for this I have a mate who is a ST holder at Ipswich. Will get him to get me a ticket and have to stay stum in the home end but better than paying an extra £18 I had the same experience at Reading. I could get cheaper tickets from the Madejski in the home end, so did that. Who would have thought I would have had to spend 90 mins bridling my excitement as we won 2-1!!!! Man, that was a happy trip home.
Window Cleaner Posted 17 February, 2009 Share Posted 17 February, 2009 (edited) ... and a decent manager (although McLeish is defying the odds so far!) At this level the manager is peripheral if he is competent, that's all it takes, There is no major wheeling and dealing to be done, you buy what you can afford and that's not the cream of the crop. Bad managers have taken sides into the play-offs and got promotion.I mean take Pulis, a relative failure everywhere and suddenly he gets Stoke promoted. In the CCC the players are infinitely more important than the coach/manager. You score goals, you stop the others scoring, it's not rocket science in the CCC. Obtaining a combination of those 2 is oft more by luck than judgement. That's why so many sides come straight back down, the system doesn't work in the Premiership because of the vast superiority of the players in that League. They'll find ways to score no matter how good your defence is. Edited 17 February, 2009 by Window Cleaner
OfnPanad Posted 17 February, 2009 Share Posted 17 February, 2009 Was £17 at Bloomfield Road last year....would have paid an extra £11 for the loan of a thicker coat! Bl00dy heck it was cold there!

Bl00dy heck it was cold there! I haven't looked into everybody's ST prices but I see that at £24 were among the moderate prices of the CCC. I mean Ipswich at £28,Forest at £30, QPR at £. If we charged Ipswich's price and pro-rata'd it onto ST we'd be about £1.5 million better off over the season. At £30 we'd be quids in. I hadn't realised that ticket prices in the CCC had escalated to this level. No wonder we're shîte and poor..

The Milkybarkid Posted 17 February, 2009 Share Posted 17 February, 2009 I also have friends who are Ipswich ST holders and they keep moaning about Jim Magilton. Apparently their local paper yesterday printed an article saying how bad Magilton was and how he should be sacked!! I reckon we might get one of our wins needed there you know. We will win matches when we start scoring. We're no worse than a lot of other showers of ****e, just that we can't score. If we could we'll hold our own. Whether it will be too little too late or not is hard to say.

He's a good manager he's just useless when it comes to spending money. Some of the players he's brought in since Marcus Evans took over have been a joke. I'd take him at Saints if he got sacked, he'd work well with a limited budget.

My friends have certainly spoken highly of him in the past. Think everyone at Ipswich was hoping the money that Marcus Evans put in would be enough to take them up but it hasn't worked like that. Had a text from one of them yesterday to say there'd be protesting at portman Road on Saturday. Think the fans have had enough of Magilton. I'd prefer more experience if we get someone new. But then they'll be cheap if Lowe has anything to do with it. And probably dutch.
Chez Posted 18 February, 2009 Share Posted 18 February, 2009 why is it when rich owners enter the fray the ticket prices go up not down? QPR fans must be pulling their hair out at the prices rises bearing in mind they have three of the richest guys around running the club. Midn you you don't get rich by giving your mney away I suppose. £28 is rediculous for Ipswich. Just getting their costs an arm and a leg, they are taking the ****. At some point fans just have to stop going, thats the only way they will learn.
