StuRomseySaint Posted 12 April, 2009 Share Posted 12 April, 2009 ... thought I would check out what terraces we might get to STAND on next season. 1) Carlisle ( If larger allocation is taken ) 2) Yeovil Town 3) Brentford So, much to my dissapointment, only 3 ( realistically 2 ) terraces to stand on next season, oh well, it's better than nothing I suppose. :-(

Griffo Posted 12 April, 2009 Share Posted 12 April, 2009 Like **** we'd take extra allocation to Carlisle. We'd take about 10 .
StuRomseySaint Posted 12 April, 2009 Author Share Posted 12 April, 2009 Like **** we'd take extra allocation to Carlisle. We'd take about 10 . Well I am going! ( Only because I can fit in the annual mind-numbingly boring visiting of family with a footy march ) I once went to watch Carlisle United v Aldershot years ago, the PA announcer actually names all 13 Aldershot fans in the away end! Also, Carlisle is not as far as Newcastle or Sunderland in travel time, you can do it in 5 hours, on a good run. Mind you, just been looking into it, the initial allocation of seats is 1500, so it looks like seating then. Unless we get them last game of the season and the match has some meaning. I'll be going too. Have always gone to the Newcastle Sunderland and 'Boro games up there. Carlisle is a new ground too. Hartlepool is a ****ing trek too. Lots of likely new grounds next season, which could prove quite expensive Also hoping Luton somehow stay up as I've not been to Grimsby or Chester so wouldn't be too bothered if they dropped into the Conference - Luton going affects my 92 ground count... currently on 61 (will be 62 with Forest), potentially 12 new grounds next season in League One. Showing your age fella, as Forest is one ground I've been to a number of times. Think the first was about 1979 or 1980. The League games, a great 1984 Cup match right through to that freezing Cup match a few years back.

I remember going to one when on a Junior Saints trip, Matty scored a couple, possibly even a hat-trick... we were in the home end, when he scored one of his goals he celebrated by us younguns who were going mental.... until the coins started showering down on us! Michelle Posted 12 April, 2009 Share Posted 12 April, 2009 Carlisle has got to be done, just for the experience. Bring on the new grounds!
Barney Trubble Posted 12 April, 2009 Share Posted 12 April, 2009 It's odd isn't it that in a perverse way I'm sort of excited about us being relegated so I can experience the new grounds. It's always a good feeling when you go to a ground for the first time. Football fans are weirdos:D

Looking at the potential new grounds i am shocked to only see about 6 for me, watching saints between 73 and 78 we visited many of those grounds
