Saint Fan CaM Posted 3 May, 2009 Share Posted 3 May, 2009 Nothing new here really, but yes, going into the bank holiday weekend with no firm offer looks very bleak indeed.

Saints Mad Si Posted 3 May, 2009 Share Posted 3 May, 2009 Problem is, if Im right somebody say if i am not but the players can walk away for nothing if they are not paid because the club has not stayed within the lines of the players contract, so they would be free to talk to other clubs. So we wouldnt get anything for them anyway except for the leagues silly tribunal system. :-(
TNT Posted 3 May, 2009 Share Posted 3 May, 2009 If you digested the last Fry quote he talks about valuation and relegation. So i dare say thats where we are at with interested parties.
wild-saint Posted 3 May, 2009 Share Posted 3 May, 2009 And i read posts on here saying they will walk away from saints if lowe returns. Ill welcome him back if it means i get to see saints next year. M271 Posted 3 May, 2009 Share Posted 3 May, 2009 34 expressions of interest, down to 3 or 4 serious parties but none might be taking it forward. Our finances must be really bad seeing how they could make a deal with the creditors on the cheap for the club and/or stadium. I have to say that apart from the Guernsey guys the lack of substansive rumours did point towards not much progress of serious and advanced bidders, these stories do tend to get out one way or the other. Todays Sunday papers, normally a hot bed of gossop and rumour are very quite on the issue apart from this Times story focussing on a possible lack of interest and employee payment problems. Will the council stadium and fan 'last resort' club buying option now come into play ? I'll try and stay optimistic and hope that there is a suitable 'white knight' working quietly in the background about to save us.
Gorgiesaint Posted 3 May, 2009 Share Posted 3 May, 2009 Nothing new here really, but yes, going into the bank holiday weekend with no firm offer looks very bleak indeed. There is something new here - and thats the comment that we owe £2m to the inland revenue. This is the first time that has been written about anywhere. The danger now is that we get taken over but if that debt is not paid in full then there is a CVA issue coming out of administration - and we are looking at a further points deduction. We could be looking at a starting point of -25 points next season.

I don't think I can handle Saints getting hit with further points deduction if we survive the summer that will do us in.

The Rover Posted 3 May, 2009 Share Posted 3 May, 2009 I shouldn't panic. Fry is working on a contingency plan. My guess is that if the club is not sold in the next week or so, Surman will be sold to Reading so that the wages can be paid.

If I remember correctly 75% of the value of the debt has to be agreed to for the CVA to take effect and therefore the 2 million owed to HMRC is just about 6.25 % of the value of the debt and their objections will not count as long as Barclays and Aviva agree to it. If it is his plan, then he'll be on his own! I think Fry is just playing a canny game - we have interested parties, we know that, and I am sure something will happen as soon as the season is over.
