  1. How dare anyone try to create something different and potentially noisy 🤣 Life moves on, new things occur, things change. Fans used to clap both teams. Saints and Pompey fans would go to each other’s games when their team wasn’t at home. Everyone wore flat caps. People drank pints of brown. People used to stay to the end of matches unless their team had had an absolute shocker. Rattles were once a thing, now they aren’t. Jumpers for goalposts. New, old, borrowed, things just keep moving on in new directions.
  2. Should be useful for next year’s promotion attempt
  3. He’s done a fantastic job at Chelsea I think, next up he should join Man Utd 😎
  4. Since the unbeaten run, the players have shown their true character. Technically good for the most part, apart from the ability to take chances but weak bottlers really.
  5. The saddest thing for me is that he just doesn’t appear to be able to adapt. I’m all for people having a good crack at it and I think that Russball is hampered somewhat by the level of players we have but therein lies the problem; play to your strengths and get the best out of the personnel. This could also be a Sports Republic/leadership issue as we still have delusions of grandeur.
  6. Instead of responding to 20,000 individual emails they’ll probably release the information at some point so people can work it out.
  7. A good win ruined by the match day DJ playing dog shit music 😂
  8. Thank goodness for that. Downes has at least got bottle
  9. Nobody wants to do anything with the ball. The fear of losing possession makes them fear trying to do something to actually win. Pathetic really.
  10. The tendency now is for every manager/coach to have to overthink/over okay everything. Working day and night to fix things. Why? Is no-one efficient and effective any more? Working long hours is going to lead to overthinking and mistakes. It's a simple game overcomplicated by xG, duels, low blocks and other total bollocks. On another note, was watching a bit of Wolsfburg v Mönchengladbach and they were saying how Wolfsburg had really dropped a level in the second half, and looked unlikely to score whilst BM equalised and ended up winning 1-3. Ralph up to Ralph things. Another manager who worked long hours and was a tinkerer.
  11. If by brave you mean hiding behind the sofa when the wicked witch comes on screen, then yes.
  12. One benefit of this powder puff piss poor end to the attempt to get promoted is that we will get to play our local rivals twice in a year. Scarily, they’ll be fired up after being promoted and we will be stripped of talent off the back of a disappointing non-promotion season that for awhile looked promising.
  13. Play offs will be tough going for 2 matches.
  14. Staplewood’s pavillion building is a small space and the manager’s office is pretty much next to where Wilcox would’ve been, and the management and players eating area is also where the leadership eats. The idea that there be a close working relationship between manager, coaches and JW isn’t far fetched, and that Wilcox would have been around the players too and they are feeling the potential loss isn’t hard to imagine. Players are paid well but they are human and they’ll know that change is coming and that’s unsettling. It’s a big shame.
