  1. It was a talksport interview rather than the press conference you're referring too. And no. I'm saying there's no evidence it's a choice between one or the other. I agree but these two are completely different players to O'Riley. As I've said elsewhere i don't think we're signing MOR and haven't believed that since we had a bid rejected and made it clear the finances were too much and his team then seemingly went around briefing to any journalist they could that he's agreed personal terms with various clubs. However he clearly offers more productivity in goals and assists than our two new guys so I very much doubt the club have made a conscious decision to go with Fernandes specifically over O'Riley. It's clearly much more of a case that a player with the profile they like is available at a price they can do a deal at. Maybe that comes round for MOR at some stage or maybe it's someone else with his qualities and like Martin alluded to today they find someone who can provide productivity in attacking areas.
  2. They seem nothing like each other at all so there's no evidence it's one or the other. Whether we sign O'Riley or not, the idea we have signed this guy instead of him is baseless.
  3. Well that's a different interview but anyway, are you say we are in for him still and this guy isn't an alternative?
  4. Okay, I don't believe that at all but anyway, either way, whether we sign MOR or not one day, there's no evidence at all to suggest this guy is an alternative.
  5. When do you think it's important we are in for him if it's not right now?
  6. You can read any of the daily echo pieces which are clearly club briefings and all state we're unlikely to sign him.
  7. Yeah, maybe we'll be in the race one day but as you say we are not right now, sooo this guy who doesn't play like him probably isn't an alternative for him?
  8. Yeah Alex Crook, who however bad he is, is literally quoting...Russell Martin.
  9. The tweet literally says he's moved from an attacking midfielder to an 8 and yes, here's the quote.
  10. Doesn't mention MOR anywhere in that tweet. Club have mentioned MOR a few times over the past few weeks though and almost every single time, whether club briefings through Alfie House or whether Russel Martin himself, they've told us we aren't signing him.
  11. He sounds and looks exactly like the sort of player Martin would like so I'm not sure why anyone thinks he wouldn't want this. There's some weird conspiracy theorists around just because we're being linked with someone different to who they have convinced themselves is the answer. Also the "where does he fit in" chat is nonsense. He'll have a role to play, not everything has to be "here's our 11" and any new signing has to fit into it. Having a selection of midfielders seems like a good idea to me.
  12. Che Adams been on for 5 minutes and already putting on a master class against AC Milan. Nutmegged someone on the way to Torino going 2 up.
  13. He got 13 games and spent a lot of the season injured so not sure that’s fair. One of their best players this pre season too so it’s classic Chelsea they are loaning him out.
  14. Also Royal leaving Spurs frees up a position in their squad for a versatile full back…
  15. Yes, this was said weeks ago just after Saints briefed via the daily echo they were unlikely to get him. It’s bizarre fans have held onto this, mainly thanks to weirdos pretending to be ITK on here and Blackmore mentioning it at the same time as mentioning Carvalho just hours before he agreed a move elsewhere. ‘In our position of the food chain but totally defy the whole concept of a food chain’ is a hell of a stupid post 😂
  16. It’s more the baseless and badly put together opinions that I have problems with and come across as just being said for the sake of a narrative, like a bot. We’ve just had one of our more exciting seasons as a club, so anyone peddling the ‘Boring, predictable, terrible, dull style’ narrative doesn’t feel like they are actual real people.
  17. Eh?
  18. I'm not having a go at the people who didn't attend, which included me, but because I didn't go, I don't feel I'm in a position to criticise people who did go and wanted to ask whatever question they wanted to ask.
  19. You, for example? Really enjoying the suggestions and judgement from people who didn't go. Good stuff.
  20. Nobody we are trying to sign who has the choice between Brentford and Saints is thinking ‘Saints were an established PL team for a while’…they are thinking ‘they came up via the play offs and start as the worst team in the league on paper’ but anyway, same as Leicester…sensible point…compare our summer to theirs…
  21. Do people just completely forget where we were last year and are they completely oblivious to others? Brighton have had Europe recently. Brentford are settling in as a PL team. We've just come up from the playoffs. I'm not sure who you think we are but we are very unlikely to compete with these teams right now. I didn't see Luton fighting off competition from Brighton last year for 20 million plus players so I'm not sure why you expect us to.
  22. Lowest in the league last year for aerial attacks so that is just not true.
  23. Is this board getting taken over by bots?
  24. Always worth remembering the club briefed quite a few weeks ago we were unlikely to sign O'Riley and then a few days ago told everyone we have pulled out of deals that have gone too high. Between then O'Riley's price has only gone up.
  25. Genuinely find it baffling I've had to explain that to someone. Thought the Glen guy was being a proper attention seeking dope with his tweet but can see why he has an audience if something that we've been doing at times for a year now and quite literally unfolded in front of peoples eyes just an hour or so ago still needs explaining
