  1. What is this forensic investigation going to uncover? We all know that there is no way anybody with a ounce of intelligence is going to accept that SLH is/was a separate company with a raft of diverse interests of which just one is football. The FL have launched this investigation in the hope, more than expectation that they can find something/anything that they can make the 10 point deduction stick on. They're worried, very worried. Recent history shows they are very quick to deduct points and if you spoke to Mr Mawhinney off the record right now he'd tell you that SFC should, morally, be deducted 10 points; I have to admit if it was any other club I'd be inclined to agree with him. It is their **** up, they should have their rules in order.
  2. The situation summed up perfectly IMHO
  3. I think they're worried that they can't deduct points from us given their current rules. They'll be praying we go down anyway, they can deduct the ten points this season (nobody will give a monkeys) and they will have escaped without looking the fools that they are.
  4. If I was the FL I would be worried that, once again, the rules aren't watertight and we are going to look like fools again. I'm expecting a lot of vitriol heading in our direction from the FL about the "spirit of the rules" and an announcement that they can't dock us points along with a statement that they are going to revise the rules.
  5. I think there's still hope that Barnsley could be dragged in. Seven games left, five are away and the two home games are against Swansea and Wolves.
  6. I think we broadly agree. Theoretically possibly, but in practice highly unlikely.
  7. Who do you think would be prepared to take the land, flatten the stadium and use it for something else and take all the bad PR, aggravation et al that would go with it?
  8. My thoughts exactly. That gives us 49 and if we beat forest it goes to GD.
  9. Must beat QPR and not lose to Blackpool. That should see us in with a decent chance after the international break.
  10. I see it differently. Pearson used him and I believe he would have been involved. Probably not. But what's that got to do with it? You can't claim him as part of the youth revolution; if he'd been 17 and on a free then okay. However, at 1.2M and 19 years old he is an expensive signing from whom we are yet to get much return from. Do you really think that sort of transfer fee for an untried kid in the situation we found ourselves in the summer was a wise use of funds? The "Dutch experiment" has failed. We are just like most other clubs in our division now - a few kids and some older pros who've been around a bit.
  11. If we had spent £1.2M on a player (Schneiderlin) last season he would have played. Lallana would have been involved this season regardless as he was starting to break through last season. That leaves 3.
  12. That comment does condone violence. You're saying that if someone calls you a name you have the right to kick them up and and down the car park? Defend themselves? I thought someone was shouting at them?
  13. You Sir are the one being tongue in cheek.
  14. Anyone remember this: http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/news/?page_id=7009 Makes me feel sick the rubbish these people spout.
  15. They need to call it off then. There are plenty of things that could happen between 1200 and 745 that cause it to be postponed later.
  16. Okay then. The british climate is more akin to Russia and Scandanavia than Italy, Germany etc. I think you'll find in those countries they don't so much have a winter's break but run their season February to November.
  17. Who has their winter break in February?
