Poch was appointed by NC, not Reed. Reed and Koeman had a very strained relationship, to say the least. If you’re going to try and make someone look silly, at least get your facts right yourself.
-
To be fair you wanted Nigel Adkins (how’s he doing at Hull, BTW), so I don’t see how you could possibly turn your nose up at anyone
-
Not true, our board though Tuchel was a better option. I know at least 1 board member was very keen on him (Silva). Wouldn’t be surprised if he is our manager by the time we play Watford and I think he’ll do a decent job with us. Had an instant positive impact at Hull and the same with Watford. Who knows if Everton job distracted him, clearly more than meets the eye there, but our squad is much better than Watford’s. I think he’d keep us up.

It’s getting to the point where I would take just about anyone other than MP, if I’m honest. Tend to agree strachan (knows the club, will kick players arse and have fans onside etc..) could come in and see out the remaining fixtures on a short term basis. I wouldn’t be confident he’d keep us up, but id have more belief than current. A month or two ago, when people were discussing making a change, I felt like we could attract some pretty decent (even if it was BFS to take 1 step back to go forward in the future). I’m not sure that’s the case now. If we pull the trigger, I think a 6 month deal would be best for all parties. Id like to see strachan in some capacity at the club, not sure if manager is the right job though (the game has changed considerably since his last job in the PL)...

Whatever way you look at it, it’s not right and unfair on at least one party (selling club player may force move or agent may sell for less than true value, player potentially may not get best possible deal or us could be over paying). The only thing he could do to prevent is completely stay out of all negotiations who have said Agent. This may well be the case, but I doubt it.

And rightly so, it is a massive conflict of interest. Interesting how this has now come up a week or so after it came to light on here.....
-
Next time you speak to said family member, it may be worth making sure you spell his / their name right.....
-
I don't think we have a chance at all, but at least if it is like that, we may keep it below 5...
-
Yep.... Which makes me laugh when people turn their nose up at paying £100k a week for someone like Walcott...

Given the way Tottenham play, it may be better for us us if it is still a state

With respect, it's not Guan's or anyone else on this forum's job (I don't know your position at the club) to select a replacement. People are paid a lot of money to do this job, if they want to give me their salary, then i'll certainly offer some suggestions to the board. Dare I say it, we may even need to pay another club compensation Ultimately it's been 10 game, yes 10 games without a win in the PL for which we've picked up 4 points. I don't think whoever we pick could do a worse job, at the moment. I agree that with new players he could improve us, but in the same light, he could not and we've just wasted a window giving any new man no time to turn things around. If we can't find someone better, even if it's just a little bit, than 0 wins in 10, then what are these people, who are paid a decent amount, doing?
-
Agree - Absolutely no chance of him coming though, unless we were willing to pay him stupid money (I actually think he'd be worth it). I can't see him being too happy at Arsenal if they sign Aubameyang. Maybe a loan? Again, think he could do much better than us if we went abroad.
-
On the face of it I would prefer Slimani, hasn't been great at Leciester (no shame playing second fiddle to Vardy though) but has a decent scoring record everywhere else, especially at Sporting. However, I can't see leicester wanting to take that much of a hit on the £28m they paid for him last summer which will probably price us out of a move.
-
We’ve literally just received £70m (in instalments k know, but no reason why our deal wouldn’t be structured in the same way)......
-
Very good player, would be a massive upgrade on Walcott. If we’re concerned by the money, that for me proves the board/owners need shot ASAP.

1 is at Everton...

Feel a bit for him as he is being judged on the basis that he has quite clearly been picked by Pellegrino. Unfortunately many have lost all confidence in his (Pellegrino's) ability. That being said, if he comes and scores 6-10 goals a keeps us up, all will be forgotten. Who knows, he could be the man who turns Pellegrino into the next Alex Ferguson.
-
Right now it would have to be manager as the board can't directly impact on field performances, without changing players / manager, but in long term (i.e summer) I would have to say new board assuming they would replace manager & players.
-
I would consider JWP to be an intelligent player, but you're not going to see him start dominating the midfield making bursting forward runs like Pogba... he's not that kind of player. Just because you are 'intelligent' doesn't mean you can just completely change your game. Gabbi is good at running off the shoulder of the last man, our midfield aren't good enough (or aren't instructed, as it's 'high risk') to find them through balls. If you expect him to overnight become excellent with his back to goal or to be fantastic in the air you will be disappointed.

Given that Long is effectively stealing a living as a footballer (especially in the PL), I think his skin should be thick enough to handle the abuse.
-
Yep, this would be my approach. In an ideal world, we'll bring in a new man Monday and he'll have 10 days to bring his own players in.
