Is this a serious statement?
-
Yep, agree with this. He'll be brought in to do a job and that's what he'll do. Probably have us top half of PL on a consistent basis. He actually done a very good job at Stoke. He has completely changed the way they play and as you have said finished 9th 3 seasons in a row. There is certainly better out there but he is competent enough to keep us up.
-
I agree with this. His lack of pace is a concern but with him and JWP on either wing (Bertrand and Cedric offering us pace), we should be able to deliver some decent balls for Carrillo or Austin.
-
He didn't say the Dome was near any house. He said, the water is running off the roof of the dome and is causing the drainage to block - That's completely feasible. Not to say that I believe him - it's the fact we have nowhere to expand that makes me question it.
-
Fact or opinion? Would be my plan A to be honest. I don't see why we couldn't get them both (Quincy RW, Sisto LW).....
-
Austin is our best striker, by far. However, Austin is not reliable in terms of fitness, so will need to be managed - Definitely room for both of these in the squad. I think we should cash in on Gabbi (transfer fee & saving on salary) as I think Austin (focal point / great in the box), Carrillo (big man to aim for), Long (pace on counter / Press) + Gallagher / another youngster this year, is enough and all offer something slightly different. Assuming we continue to play Les' favored 4231/433 then we still are desperate for some pace to get around the big CF.
-
If he comes in and scores 6-10 goals in our remaining games, that should be enough to keep us up. I can't say I have any idea what he is like, but from description he sounds like he fits the mold of what we have been missing. Give him until the summer, if he really is sh!te (likely that we will be in the Championship if so), then replace him along with the bloke that brought him here. My only concern is that he is clearly an MP player, MP may be able to get the best out of him but MP's is on thin ice and a loss next Wednesday could prove to be his last game... Who know's how his replacement would want to play and if Carrillo would suit that manager. Could prove to be a very expensive risk, but one I think we needed to take.

I'd love to see Walcott deployed as a target man (which is what we need) I suspect we were in for both (Walcott instead of Promes)
-
Apparently Neymar and Cavani aren't too happy in Paris either - perhaps we should go for them as well.
-
Yep - what people need to understand is that selling clubs will often only sell if they can get a replacement in (I assume we were keen to get rid of VvD due to the atmosphere he was bringing to the club). Transfers generally take time (that's not excusing the club as they should have done this in the months leading up to the window), but with a week to go, I imagine we are in discussions with a few clubs.
-
I agree. He's clearly hand picked by the manager, who has had him before, so I can only assume (hope) that he has a vision of how he wants him/us to play. Who knows, this could kick start his (MP's) career with us (look at Puel with Leicester having players that suit his philosophy).
-
Another game in which I wouldn't be too disappointed if we lost. Looking at our next 8 fixtures, these need to take priority. Forster (hopefully the rest has done him good) Pied Stephens Yoshida Sam McQueen PEH Davis JWP Redmond Boufal (Sims if he is about) Gabbi McCarthy, Hodet, Lemina, Hesketh or Sims, Long

I’d be saying sorry to your contact at the club... you might have just got him right in the sh!t!!
-
Had Tuchel not become a realistic target, this probably would have been the case. The club took a gamble and it back fired, struggle to see how you can blame the board for that one. Had it paid off (which it looked likely it would for a fair bit of time), they would have been branded genius’. As soon as the players turned on Puel, he was a dead man walking anyway.
-
It's not come from me, it's come from someone probably (definitely) knows more than Blackmore.... I'm telling you, we did not pick MP ahead of Silva.
-
Did you watch the second half against Watford? We were absolutely appalling
-
It is bullsh*t, I can assure you. We spoke to Silva early doors in the summer (I know at least 1 board member wanted him), but the club decided that Tuchel was the better option (we put all our eggs in the Tuchel basket). Silva didn't want to wait around (can't blame him) and decided to go to Watford. MP wasn't our first, second or probably even 3rd choice - it was a case of having MP or FDB (who the club had ruled out the previous summer).
-
They're 10th, Watford's statement pretty much said that it wasn't due to his ability, rather behind scenes stuff that he got the boot.... I don't think you've been proven right at all. There was nothing to suggest we would get more points under MP than we Watford would have (we failed to beat them only 2 weeks ago). Clutching at straws a little, I think.
-
So by this logic you would have Tony Pulis over Silva? Looking at his (Silva's) previous record it looks like he is a bit of an impact manager (arguably just what we need). We are only 6 points away from 10th, I'd be a lot more confident in getting those 2 wins in our up and coming fixtures with Silva than what I would MP. If Silva was to come in, with his style of play, he wouldn't need to change a great deal - he'd just need to get players onside and get more out of them.
-
We were 2-0 up and drew 2-2, in the last minute. In what context could you consider that a "win", regardless of a refereeing decision?
-
Tadic, along with JWP and Bertrand, was our best player today. I’d have probably taken off Lamina and dropped PEH back, but he did look leggy. Glad the young lad got a chance, should have scored but I’m sure given another chance he will. Offered a hell of a lot more than Gabbi did for 80 minutes. Today’s performance shows were not far off having a pretty decent team, just lacking a few bits (pace out wide, CF who can hold the ball up and a CB). Big 10 days to ensure we are ready for Brighton (who are in worse run of form in the league). I’m concerned about our fitness. We looked dead after 70 mins, I’m not sure as a team we are fit enough (probably why we have conceded so many late goals in the half and why performance drops off second half). Personally, I’m not a fan of our set up in having a ‘sports scientist’, rather than an actual fitness coach.
-
We need a right sided CB and quickly.
-
Yep, he’s a pretty average player, which makes it concerning that he’s first choice. Something the club need to address in this window.

Spot on with this
