  1. I think it's potentially a pretty offensive joke to Sotonians with relatives who died on the Titanic. Certainly ill-advised for someone earning his living performing in front of 30,000 of the likely target audience every other week, However, it was clearly designed to offend, and from someone who tangibly isn't bothered who he offends, which is why most people just ignored it. It was posted on the evening of 20th August, btw, so it's 4 weeks old.
  2. You'll find it here: http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?51446-Artur-Boruc-Instagram&p=2033711#post2033711
  3. I should think we'll wear all navy against them, whilst they'll wear all white against us even at St Mary's (because their away kit is red/black halves, red/red).
  4. I think you'll find that's 93 days, ACTUALLY.
  5. Season longs can be recalled in Transfer Windows (i.e. in January or in the case of Taider, before the TW he was originally loaned in closes). The short term regs are above - as 93 days is the longest period we could insert a recall clause which could be activated after 28 days. To answer myself above - "I've forgotten the bit about multi-month loans".
  6. Ok, answer my own question:
  7. There's an "option to buy", with an agreed amount already. If they don't take up that option, they no longer have first refusal and might end up having to pay more in competition with someone else.
  8. I think Boruc wanting to be first choice and clearly not being is probably sufficient reason. He's also out of contract in July so it makes sense for him to be in the shop window for potential suitors.
  9. But we can't recall Boruc from a season long loan outside the transfer window. Presumably the term "end of the year" means a 3 month loan then with recall clause. But we're only allowed to send players out on single month "emergency" loans outside the Transfer Window aren't we? So either it's not til the end of the year, or he can't be recalled until Jan, or I've forgotten the bit about emergency multi-month loans. Which is it?
  10. Well, we've established in the past couple of months such nuggets as "Luke Shaw's first World Cup memory was from 2010" and "Raheem Sterling didn't know who Ricky Villa was", so I shouldn't think he'll get much of the respect he deserves from some of the younger players. As we're discovering from the "...on the Banner" thread, no matter how good someone is, without context for their achievements, they just come across as some old bloke who used to be good.
  11. The context around it is FAR more interesting than the analysis of the goal itself.
  12. Really, we need "in depth analysis" about an instinctive goal from 20 years ago where each action was completely bloody obvious in the context of the players around him? Jesus.
  13. Seems like exactly the kind of thing he'd be expected to say by both clubs' PR.
  14. Didn't we hear all this guff after Wanyama's interview in Kenya about 3 months ago? Can we all just assume that all of our players will be linked with other top half Prem clubs (and Man U) and that they're all off asap from now on, then there's no reason to get upset when they do go, and we can all be pleased if they don't? That's my new attitude to it all - just enjoy it while they're here.
  15. We're going to need a timeframe for that.
  16. Never mind all that, I want a phone that when I type an actual word that exists in its dictionary changes it to a word with similar spelling but a completely different meaning. Autocorrect my buttocks, Turkey.
  17. No criticism of you, the article's clearly got today's date on it.
  18. Wow, you'd think the Daily Record would have something else to report today. Yeah, that Titanic thing was after the first match when he wasn't in the squad but before the transfer window closed. So at least 3 weeks old.
  19. The senior players deciding they wanted to leave en masse when Cortese went and they didn't get mollycoddled by the new regime was the cause of the "meltdown", nothing else. You can tell that by Lambert's outdated comments about the board that came out at the start of the season, he was the first to go and would have seen less of the new regime than anyone, but even by the start of the season when the comments came out the perception of the situation had significantly changed from the rumoured "everyone's off and they can't stop us".

    J-Rod

With the FIFA release time for major tournaments factored in, Mane will probably be gone in the first week of January (assuming Senegal qualify, which they look like doing). Latest he can be back is second week of Feb.
  21. Leave it until they know who is likely to stay or go next season and what the budget is in order to meet Financial Fair Play before making a contract offer?

    Sadio Mane

    1) Literally no-one is not buying a shirt because they can't have the name of a bloke they'd never heard of and have never seen play on a shirt they for some reason haven't bought yet. They'll either have another name, or leave it blank if they aren't sure, in which case they can get it added at any point anyway. 2) We charge a flat fee for shirt name and number, Mane costs the same as Alderweireld to have printed.
  23. Can we get this on the banner?
  24. Do you think it'll take them the 7 years it took us to work out that he always looks like that, and you HAVE to take him off after an hour? He's played 60 and 66 minutes for them so far, which is pretty consistent with what he was doing for us a lot of the time.
  25. Is this the "11 month accounts" that appeared so very suspicious to those on the Pompey Takeover/Nutjob Thread?
