So, erm, he's just posted some really daft stuff (particularly the Titanic ice bucket challenge pic)... A tad antagonistic, he seems to revel in it.

Just remember that you asked for it.

Come off it, the only reason you're ahead of schedule with the repayments is because the club managed to schedule the repayments to get dragged out over 3-4 years well into 2016 despite having enough in parachute money to have repaid them in full before the Parachutes ran out in the summer. And let's not forget that the only reason those players are being paid at all is because of the Football Creditors rule and the FL's insistence on doing so before being allowed to play in the League (prior to the League One season), otherwise those debts would have fallen into the black hole along with the rest of CVA1 and never been repaid. Let's consider how many years it SHOULD be taking for those debts to be paid off - and maybe how long it took Saints to pay back their outstanding creditors post-takeover (clue: not very).

Rickie Lambert... He plays for Liverpool don't you know?
The9 replied to Noodles34's topic in The Saints
I somehow doubt Saints fans will bother singing songs for him for 18 of the remaining home matches, there may be some when Liverpool visit - but most likely by then he'll be completely off Rodgers' radar and we'll be abusing Lallana instead. -

That at least was how I heard it in the ground. We ran out of song length before they did! Having rewatched the whole match on Sky now, they seemed to turn the Saints mic back up in the second half when it was obvious we were the only ones singing, although I did hear a Lovren song from the Liverpool fans on tv that I couldn't hear in the stadium, the cheers and applause for him to try and drown out our booing came across a lot louder (but then we were in one corner and booing, so couldn't hear much else!) and there was a chorus of Fields of Anfield Rd which didn't even get to the end just after they scored too. -
Micah Richards has been sidelined at Man City due to his complete inability to follow tactical instructions, I'd want him at Saints if it wasn't for that (and probably his ridiculous wages). Scott Sinclair (wages aside) would be ideal.

We could go on with this, we have 7 keepers with squad numbers. Anyone heard anything reliable about why Boruc wasn't with the squad yet? Injury? Girlie strop? Forster and Davis were named and Cropper was warming up with them at Anfield. Looking forward to seeing who gets the nod for the League Cup match...

Still can't believe people are banging on about how Chambers could have replaced Lovren when Chambers is neither left footed nor left sided.

This thread is to oversee the detail of their financial cack-handedness and to promote various myth-busting, any footballing rivalry is purely incidental. There could easily be another thread just for on-field nonsense. The financial stuff has at least another 2 years to run, their 11 month accounts show that.

What if he keep Taider

I'd be bloody furious if we sold Schneiderlin and got Townsend in exchange - not to mention that the original Schneiderlin bid was meant to have been £10m plus Holtby (who is miles better than Townsend) and Chiriches (who is at least in a position we need).
-
I'm pretty sure even Davis wouldn't do THAT 9 times out of 10.

I'm 5'9, broad shoulders, not quite fat yet but getting close, and I'm in a 2XL in the home shirt which I'm pretty sure are the same fit as the aways (last season's Adidas I was comfortably in a L for the home kit - which I only bought in April! - and XL for the tailored away). You will be at least one and possibly two sizes higher than last season's home kit, and probably one size more than last season's away. On the bright side, if you're tall at least the shirt won't be ridiculously long on you, I could wear the 2XL as a dress by sticking a belt around it... if I was that way inclined.

Fans team match v West Brom this Saturday, 11:00 at BTC

First match of my "absolutely definite, no U-turns this time, not even for Worldnet, did you see the size of my knee afterwards?" retirement. -
Stoke and the M6 was cack all weekend, closed at Stoke on the way up (still, after an 8am start got to see Burton, Derby, Leek and Congleton before arriving at 2pm to see Morecambe v Newport ) and M6 was crawling from Warrington on the way back leading to an A34 route. Liverpool's fans were absolutely awful. When one bloke on his own is the only person in the stand singing for more than 30 minutes they have some serious problems. Coincidentally, it was about a 50/50 Saints/Liverpool fan split at Warwick Services on the way back - and as for the losers who go out for a meal in Liverpool on Saturday night wearing their kit and tracksuits, Holy Jeebus, who do you think you're impressing?

Phil Neville predicts Saints in Bottom 3 at end of season

You seem to have forgotten 2011/12. And that no-one tipped us to go down in 2004/5. -

Impressed me and was much better than I was expecting, though he has a history of starting well and then tailing off. Hopefully we'll be able to coach him to be able to maintain that early enthusiasm and effort, and take the lazy side-on diving in late-hit challenges out of his game before he gets two yellows for it. I will point out that for their first goal he was a long way up the pitch, causing Yoshida to have to come over to the left side to mark, causing Fonte to have to come across to a more central position, creating the space between Fonte and Clyne for the pass to Sterling, but I was more bothered that the replay showed he jogged back after the through ball. However, overall he did pretty well.

Would he? I think he's massively overrated, he runs in straight lines throwing ineffective stepovers with a defender tracking and marshalling him all the way, then he tries to cross it and if he's lucky wins a corner. On the occasions where he cuts inside he usually hits crappy shots from distance and in 2013/14 scored once from 56 shots. Has an England career entirely based on one shot.

You basically just said it was irrelevant that there were people singing for both Lambert and Saints, you can't get why that might mean you're not bothered by it?
