Maybe he will, but unless we can find 75 legitimate squad players to give numbers to he won't be able to have it.

You're officially mental for including them at any point in the past 3 years.
-
Swansea aside, it's about the same distance to us for them as it is to Villa and West Brom, so we're one of their nearest 4 matches - plus there's a direct train. Makes sense that we'd charge more. It's also more "interesting" to see different sides, though that does ignore the fact we've seen us play Cardiff a lot more than Villa in the past 8 years.

Shaun Maloney is probably the last vaguely decent Prem-standard player to come from the SPL, they've not really been brimming with talent for a while, at least not talent that's more likely to sign for an English club than a continental European one, anyway. They're either Scottish and not good enough or they're not British and could sign for any number of clubs in any number of countries. Arguably the only other one recently is Steven Davis ! How about Gattuso from Rangers to Milan (eventually?) ? That was probably over 10 years ago as well.

I had assumed he meant Marchwood.

Soooo, still got... Cardiff Away and Third Everton Away (and Third?) Fulham Away (and Third?) Man Utd (Third ?) Norwich Away to go.

Equally, what's the point of offering a 10% discount on something many people clearly don't want to buy at any price? Add to that, even with the discount it is still more expensive than it was last year without the discount.

I've been having a whale of a time extending the Wales Extension to include the Gwent County Divisions 1-3 and Newport & District Prem X,Y and 1,2,3, have set up some "Reputation 1" leagues... The latter is the 11th tier of Welsh football, I have played in it and it's worse than all but the very worst of Southampton Saturday Junior 5, the usual bunches of pub teams and comedy names. About to expand to include the Gwent Central, North and East divisions (Tiers 8-10), all teams are right, badges where I can get them, parks pitches added with coordinates and correct kits where they can be found. I'm not creating the actual players though, that would be mental. I have some queries... also posted on the SI forums... 1) All my County league (Wales Tier 5-7) sides immediately want to expand their "parks pitches with a barrier around them", and some even build new stadiums, which is an absolutely pain and completely unrealistic, as well as annoying when I've gone to the trouble of geolocating their parks pitch and creating it in game (only for them to move within 2 months), Is there a way to stop them from all immediately adding to capacity / getting new stadiums ? Can you, say, set "attendance" to like 10 people and top attendance to not many more (and fewer than the capacity) and does that stop it ? Or fixing the last update, or setting a long-distant future stadium update to prevent interim moves? 2) They are ALL moving grounds for months on end in order to add 10 seats, that's tangibly stupid anyway, you should be able to expand from nothing much to a couple of hundred (or even a thousand) without ground moving. 3) There needs to be a limit on how many teams can ground share at the same time, I had about 7 Newport teams all playing at the same ground due to all of the relocations from their parks pitches going on - again unrealistic and silly. Can it be worked around by adding a "nearby stadium" setting on the stadium? That possibly steers the relocation to the "nearby stadium", but at the same time, they shouldn't ALL be able to play at the same place anyway, the pitch doesn't even seem to be suffering and I'm not sure if the fixtures are all happening on the same day at the same location, etc. 4) A "can't expand stadium" or "can't move grounds" option would be nice, works for hedged-in teams as well as those not allowed or not able to expand. Other stuff 5) Is there ANY way to process "future name changes" for clubs - there are a load of 2012 teams changing names and I either have to have them starting with their new name or keeping their old name. I tried editing an LNC file in Steam Apps...1330/data/all AFTER the initial season then refreshing the skin but it doesn't do anything to the names which are obviously set on the initial game start up. I just want to be able to edit team names or set them to change. 6) Llanelli and Barry Town in Wales - now all but dead and still in Wales' top 2 divisions in 2013 - any legitimate way of killing teams stone dead mid-season with coded-in "withdraw from league" or "liquidation" that can be controlled by the user without having to use 3rd party "live" editing ? Or better, has anyone managed to set up a realistic Llanelli model that has them suddenly getting massively into millions of debt when sugar daddy leaves and folding midseason, or somehow managed to get Barry's then-owner to hate his own club and get them to resign from the League (I tried setting Barry Town in my created Chairman Stuart Lovering's "disliked clubs" as well as setting the manager as disliked by him), but they plod on...

FWIW, you're right and he's wrong.

Isn't the point that because we're not a top European team we will find it difficult to sign players good enough to play for top European teams irrespective of how experienced we are in the transfer market ?

I blame Adkins.

MKDons seem to cope, ASDA basically built their ground for them, and they still have a car park which doesn't allow Stadium parking for next door on match days... plus as this thread just proved with actual factual stats, they have more away fans to cope with than Portsmouth do.

What I don't get about this, is that they have a ground, there is literally NOTHING on the site they want to put the Tescos on, and it is of sufficient size that they could put a bigger stadium on it. Ignoring for a second the zillion reasons they should not build a new ground, can't afford it, won't fill it, their league status, budget, lack of fans, etc. and focusing only on the practicalities of actual stadium size and land they can use, looking at the overhead view from that newspaper article, they could "easily" build a stadium at 90 degrees to the current one, using areas 2 and 3 which it seems they own (or at least Stuart Robinson, property developer, owns). So why wouldn't they build 2/3rds of a completely new ground it on the area 2 lanitch running top to bottom as represented in the newspaper article) whilst leaving the old stadium in place, with the pitch backing right up against the back of the Fratton stand in one corner, then once the 2/3rds of massive new 40k ground is open and teeming with the bestest, they can knock down the old ground and build the last 1/3rd of the new one, and put the f'cking Tesco on the site of the current ground, giving their landowner the development he wants ? They can run access to the car park past the top stand to the old Fratton site and the existing car park... Back to reality : 1) They can't afford to build a 40k stadium full stop anyway 2) They have no reason to want to in a league when they'll never fill the current ground and can barely afford to keep up maintenance on it 3) Robinson doesn't want to swap his land for Fratton 4) Fratton can't be sold for development anyway... can it ? 5) Robinson doesn't want to wait to get his Tesco go ahead

Especially that particular shirt...

They took the Umbro kit out of the store on May 31st and they told me in the Megastore on June 1st that you could still buy the shirt but it was still full price and they'd get it from the stock cupboard for me. I laughed and said I wasn't going to pay full price for something that would never be worn again. They weren't allowed to display any of it from June 1st because that was the date the adidas contract started.
-
I am reliably informed also that Woolston gentleman's emporium proprietor and noted stripe disliker Wurzel has also not yet seen a single new home shirt in the wild. I bet that taxi bloke's had fahsands of them in the back of his cab. Seen any in the street round your way, Turks ?

And when Chris Fairclough was there and Panasonic were sponsoring them...

The outrage is still simmering in this corner of Hampshire, I assure you. And of "people who like it", so far there's Essruu and Batman and I think Faz is quite keen, but there aren't many compared to those who don't like it. As mentioned above, I'm not sure what anyone who doesn't like it is meant to do when there aren't significant matches for another month, and the best way to show you don't like it is not buying it, which involves doing absolutely nothing.

West Brom away... came out about a week ago. They have the same shorts as Fulham, which is... interesting (to me).

Cheers, I've been busy having a life and all that malarkey. Well ok, I turned up to football training in a team GB shirt last night, then met my wife at the pub. Tuesday I spent hours sodding about on FM13 having added the Gwent County 3rd Division to the game, and Monday night I played 5 a side in a Mexico shirt. So basically I've been doing other vaguely football things, though that basically IS my life, so... yeah, anyway. Not been "SOS"ing. Incidentally, considering this shirt is going to sell "tens of thousands" apparently, I've seen one person's kid with one on my FB feed and haven't seen anyone in real life wearing one. The sash was EVERYWHERE in the first week and I saw hundreds (though admittedly the World Cup was on and people wore them to England matches).
-
You've said that you think the shirt will sell tens of thousands, how does that tally with people being not all that bothered ? You don't just wake up one morning and Saints have deducted £50 from your account and you've got a shirt on...
-
A poll on here is completely representative, but it may well sell plenty anyway - though as we have no idea how many shirts we usually sell it's speculation what kind of numbers any Saints shirt has sold. I don't think we've sold "tens of thousands" of many shirts, and this certainly isn't a popular one. Even for those buying to have a Saints kit with adidas on it there's an away kit and a range of training stuff to choose from (both of which I'll probably get).

I think he should be speaking English in press conferences by now, I think pretty much everyone had assumed he'd be doing so when the new season began. He doesn't seem to struggle to speak it during matches, but if he's not confident speaking it in front of the media, how accurate are his instructions going to be on a match day in a pressurised time-critical environment ?
-
I think his Saints days were numbered as soon as we got a Japanese player who hadn't had a couple of big injuries who could speak English and was a little more essential to the squad.

Seems to be mostly in line with colinjb and my opinions of the situation at least. Though I'd disagree about the use of "nylon"...
