Obviously as we secretly signed Butland before the Olympics... Um... Anyway...
-
You are completely talking out of your ar5e,and no amount of excessive verbiage is going to make a team of players all playing above League One, "a team that would struggle in League One", as you stated.
-
Why speculate ? It's been dissected in the last 10 pages.
-
To be fair it never stopped Redknapp. Well, that once in 2005...
-
I readily agree it's a crude method, but even with his own criteria and including short term specific purpose loans he's not managed to get to the 50% failure rate he suggested earlier.
-
100% of permanent signings or season long loans, but to include the likes of Shea, Bignall and Dale Stephens is ridiculous. Shea was a success because he gave us a warm GK body on the bench when Bart was injured, Bignall didn't get a look in because other players were in good form and Dale Stephens was emergency cover when we only had potentially one centre midfielder and were trying to sustain a promotion push - and we got promoted.

You can be lazy yourself and still critical of lazy athletes, you know.

With their team full of Prem/Championship and SPL players, many of whom have European experience, of course. Goalkeepers: McGregor (Besiktas), Gilks (Blackpool), Marshall (Cardiff) Defenders: Bardsley (Sunderland), Berra (Wolves), Caldwell (Wigan), Fox (Southampton), Hanley (Blackburn), Hutton (Aston Villa), Martin (Norwich), Mulgrew (Celtic), Webster (Hearts) Midfielders: Adam (Liverpool), Bannan (Aston Villa), Cowie (Cardiff), Dorrans (West Brom), Forrest (Celtic), Morrison (West Brom), Phillips (Blackpool), Snodgrass (Norwich) Forwards: Mackie (QPR), Maloney (Wigan), Naismith (Everton), Rhodes (Huddersfield).

Pic on this thread a while back, one of my colleagues supports AFC Wimbledon and I asked him to get me a programme last Thursday as a result...
-
Hah, you take a bunch of people signed as stopgaps and emergencies and try and pass them all off as failures. Goodbye to YOUR credibility.
-
Again, as no-one has answered my question... have they actually signed any players ? Is Brian Howard actually a Portsmouth player, or is he just a triallist who is hoping to sign for them when they are allowed to sign players ?

Let's have a look then... obviously can't judge this season's yet so I've drawn the line after January 2012 PLAYER FROM FEE DATE Dan Harding Ipswich Free 21 Jul, 2009 HIT Rickie Lambert Bristol R £1,000,000 11 Aug, 2009 HIT Dean Hammond Colchester Signed 20 Aug, 2009 HIT Radhi Jaidi Birmingham Free 03 Sep, 2009 HIT Jose Fonte C Palace £800,000 09 Jan, 2010 HIT Danny Seaborne Exeter Free 13 Jan, 2010 MISS (so far) Jon Otsemobor Norwich Free 14 Jan, 2010 MISS Lee Barnard Southend Signed 22 Jan, 2010 HIT Jason Puncheon Plymouth Signed 01 Feb, 2010 ARGUABLE Ryan Dickson Brentford Free 15 Jun, 2010 ARGUABLE Frazer Richardson Charlton Signed 06 Jul, 2010 HIT Danny Butterfield C Palace Free 17 Jul, 2010 ARGUABLE Jonathan Forte Scvnthorpe Signed 31 Jan, 2011 MISS Richard Chaplow Southampton Signed 31 Jan, 2011 HIT Jack Stephens Plymouth £150,000 21 Apr, 2011 ARGUABLE Jack Cork Chelsea Signed 11 Jul, 2011 HIT Steve De Ridder De Graafschap Signed 22 Jul, 2011 MISS (so far) Daniel Fox Burnley Signed 11 Aug, 2011 HIT Jos Hooiveld Celtic Signed 31 Aug, 2011 HIT Tadanari Lee Sanf Hiroshima Free 25 Jan, 2012 HIT ( until injured) Billy Sharp Doncaster £1,800,000 30 Jan, 2012 HIT You're on a loser when we've been promoted twice, nearly everyone's had a role - Even if you put the arguables into the MISS category it's still 13 successes and only 8 arguable/misses. Dunno why Connolly's not on that list but he was a hit too.

Disagree pretty strongly with this, they're both pretty crappy.

You want a beer, you go to the pub, etc.

Scotland have managed not to pick him for the entire of a season where he was an integral part of the team mostly leading the Championship, whilst picking Kenny Miller endlessly... which makes you think there's a bit more to it than that. Was the previous left back at Rangers ? Northern Ireland selecting Davis however was a massive un-shock.

Can someone please clarify the situation with the triallists, re current ownership and contracts ? They can't sign anyone at the moment due to being under an existing FL embargo - can they ? And they won't be able to sign anyone unless there's a new buyer, and even then they'll need to meet the FL's criteria for golden share to get into L1 without another points deduction / not being admitted to the league at all. I just need occasional reminders...

Should Oscar Pistorius be allowed to compete in the Olympics?
The9 replied to jawillwill's topic in The Lounge
I'm solidly in the "no" camp, if he wants to run he should have to use the limbs he was born with/those still attached. With the amount of effort that goes into anti-doping it seems rather silly to allow artificial aids like prosthetics to be used. You can't use certain nasal clearing products because they contain stimulants which are banned in the tiniest doses, but you can use fake legs ? Seems rather a failing of the rules. Besides, that's what the Paralympics are for. No need to run complicated analyses to justify participation, he doesn't meet the criteria without the artifical aids. It's not infant school egg and spoon, and not everyone gets the Fruit Gums at the end. -
We have different priorities.
-
We know that NOW, it was not turning up at the TO with £350 in cash in the first place because the club hadn't said there was a DD card charge that was the main problem...
-
This thread title needs a question mark.
-
Tch, the People's Elbow is no kind of finishing move.
-
Erm, and why do you think that might be ? Us managing to attract a decent owner and your lot not, I mean...?

Jason Puncheon "does not cut the mustard" for me
The9 replied to Miltonroader07's topic in The Saints
If we're playing a narrow 3 in midfield, that's perfectly in line with Puncheon's preferred and most successful position (which he proved at Millwall). He also has recent Prem experience and could be useful in the first few games, which is "traditionally" when he's at his best anyway.
