Why do we concede so many long range goals?
The9 replied to Dibden Purlieu Saint's topic in The Saints
"My original post was therefore clearly nonsense, based on a factual inaccuracy" would do it, I guess. -
Uninspiring, unprofessional and indecisive...

I'd be guessing that the content is boring but the context provided amusement. Eg "this bloke writes boring crap but it's funny he wastes so much time doing it". Random example plucked from my head... EDIT : as clarified above, amazing. If I was DP Saint (this stuff writes itself) I'd be slightly concerned no-one has bothered addressing the concerns. Maybe they have been over stressed recently? Are we to expect further concerns raised after the near-inevitable 3 defeats and unconvincing draw home to Wigan? -
I can't believe he's chosen to win the Stadium Size War with MLG by usurping him in the role of Factual Pedant.

I'd say that the difference between a 442 and a 433/451 with our personnel is only how advanced the wide midfielder is on the side without the ball. I don't think it's the system, it's our ability to support the forward ball with numbers, especially in matches where we're defending a lot. Think of Ji against City for Sunderland last season. Would Lambert have the ability to make that halfway line run with the ball in the 94th minute and still finish the move in the box with the last kick? Would Rodriguez? Would Sharp? As for the 4231, it's just a defensive 442 with a midfielder/2nd striker in the hole at the point of the diamond, not much different and therefore easy to switch to. Systems alone will not solve Prem problems.

You mean we need a lone striker who can create things on his own? Who'd have thought it... Oh yeah, me, a few days ago when everyone took it as a criticism of Lambert. We do either need players getting up and past him or we need someone else there. I completely disagree with the person who said he can't play in the hole though, that way he's linking and his hold up play allows the midfielders to support - plus the formation means there's someone already up with him. We need a flexible formation (and have one) but need creativity for the times the lone striker is 30 yards from everyone else. I didn't go btw, just responding to the problems people who did go have raised.

You can't yet, I've looked.
-
You're missing my point. Anyone who goes to 3 matches will have priority over anyone who doesn't. It makes absolutely no difference for Arsenal whether that's 40 points (as originally stated) or 45.ST holders who haven't been to City will only have 30 - even if City was only worth 1 point that would still be priority. The "extra 5" doesn't mean anything yet, though it might for Everton.
-
I'd say the mortgage (but then I've had a mortgage that was fairly insignificant). Having a wife who is also an ST holder doubles ALL of my away match day costs though, petrol between two still comes out of the same account so it's not "split", double the ticket cost, I'm going to matches I wouldn't bother with because she hasn't been there before, etc. Good fun tho.
-
Um, that's how it reads to me too...?
-
You still need to tell the ticket office who you're buying for to get the loyalty points assigned to them. How do they know who you're buying for?
-
It's both for me.
-
Huh, they're in stripes AND hoops...
-
You get points per game on the ST relating to ticket purchase priority only, and they've not mentioned loyalty points for purchases for months...
-
Makes me laugh, in the context of getting Arsenal tickets the extra 5 points makes absolutely no difference! The categories are : People who've gone to every match (45) ST holders who haven't been to City (30) Non-ST holders who have 30 pts (anyone who has been to 2 matches). Whether ST holders get 10 or 15 pts for Arsenal makes no difference, they're still "more than 30" either way.

Actually even using that argument it's red and white and grey stripes, no heritage there. You might also want to ask Liverpool and Forest fans if they've ever played in red and white stripes, they haven't, but they've worn very similar kits to our current one.
-
I hate the new shirt and haven't bought it. It's also made me a lot more reluctant to buy the away kit, so at the moment there's a big gap in my kit collection. It really does just look wrong.

It was in an Adkins interview, which IIRC came not long after similar "we're just trying to stay up" interviews with Noble of West Ham and McAnuff of Reading. Can't remember which programme it was on though... might have just been trying to talk us up for some targets, but it was a bit incongruous in that context.
-
There's that as well... who was it we were interested in ?
-
Because we sang "Premier League, You're 'aving a larf" at his team a few months before they got relegated and proved it, then finished below us the following season. If it had been something about combine harvesters...
-
As I'd already pointed out. And clarified where you DID post in your bedwettery. Anyway, you're back on block again now, how you haven't been banned for your constant personal attacks is beyond me.

Ahhhh finally we get some "news" of the overdue Matt Phillips bid. Can we get Thomas Ince as well, or do we think he's got a bit of an attitude like his old man ?
-
I wonder if the "unnamed local journalist" realised it was him being referred to - he almost certainly didn't realise that the Skate off the Football Ramble that he's tweeted will probably have an opinion nearer ours than his judging by his previous comments. And yes, a perfectly reasonable summary. Weirdness from the Aldershot fan though, clearly has a bit of a problem with Saints fans...
-
I suspect it's because the Man U only types don't know or don't care about getting Wigan tickets to get priority.

Who should be sacked.
