He just signed for a team who were in the bottom 3 of the Championship at the time, I think that's a bit of a clue too... just had a nasty shin injury too.
-
Did they? Because what I saw was us all over them and missing a hatful of chances. If that's them "nullifying" us, I'm more than happy for them to give us those chances again.
-
We have a ton of injuries and are competing in four competitions. We have adequate coverage for anything other than an injury crisis, and having half our first team strikers injured qualifies as that.

FWIW I'm wary overall as we've been so successful (relatively speaking) under the Liebherrs, and even though all indications are that Katharina is keen to preserve Markus' legacy it's still no guarantee that we'll have the kind of stewardship we've had before. Of course, if it's more of the same but with more cash and keeping hold of the kind of players who've been leaving whilst staying legit within FFP, and we end up loaded, as the biggest and most successful club in China and the USA, that probably would be alright provided the basics stay the same.

Bizarrely no, there are apparently two Newport County and Saints supporting people who like the Football Ramble. Btw I'm on page 3 of this thread and no-one yet seems to have linked to one of our ITKs (I think it was Monk) flagging Chinese interest in buying the club up in a thread a couple of months ago.

Away to Man City on Sunday? 31488 first game of this season against Watford is our highest so far this season, there were lots of 31k+ last season with 31669 Arsenal on 26th December 2015, but since we've been back up the capacity has been reduced for media purposes so it's been ages. 32070 at home to Liverpool on 16 March 2013 in the Prem was the last one, there were a few 31.9s later too. But we won't get more than 31,500 now - because unless there are no away fans, we basically can't even for a Prem game. Also, for Europa League games there are higher ad boards, so the club moves the wheelchair users into the first couple of rows on an elevated platform which loses a load of seats, as well as losing the use of the first couple of rows of the Itchen (and possibly other stands) behind the boards anyway - though they seem to be fudging some of these with "restricted view" tickets.

I don't think anyone's actually mentioned the 2-0 win last game of that season (98/99) was against Everton yet. I had to be in Hartlepool for work on the Sunday evening (driving from South Wales), so I had to go to my aunt's to watch it, and then because she had cable and not the full red button satellite package which may have had the Saints game on I was stuck watching Man U v Spurs and hoping for goal clips from The Dell.

Quite possibly, would have been a fair bit more recently than the Saints Forever original raids though, I wasn't involved in any of them, I just thought it was vaguely hilarious when they'd come back and post about their exploits on whatever the non-Main Bored (sic) was called back then - surprised I've forgotten tbh.

You thought Martina was TRYING TO CROSS IT? It didn't go more than two feet off the ground at any point.
-
I was quite pleased to see Cuco's absolutely bloody awful shot a couple of weeks ago, similar outside of the boot attempt, mis-hit, went sideways and about 15 yards wide, it put the Arsenal one into context.
-
All the more reason to not expect him to be asked to do it again.
-
If we were confident in Stephens he'd have a lot more first team appearances than he has had, and it doesn't really matter how well 10 of them are doing if you can drive a bus through the weak link - not that he's THAT bad.
-
They don't travel even within Italy, I'd be surprised if they had more than a thousand, mostly ex-pats.

Erm, and before I forget, tubgirl and going on virtual takeovers of the bushcraft forum.

Painted Cow, something to do with the first iteration of arty painted installations in Southampton at some point in the last 15 years, a ScottSaints response to one of the numerous stupidly-named groups of the tail end of the first Prem era - Kincy Saints was another one. Can't let this thread pass without a brief 28_F, and a shout out to the likes of Squibby, Cabbage Face and colin_t (oh and Ormergod who is now Paul Chuckle). Best throw Saintette out there as well... Also, Mr Green, clearly absent from the standard emoticons due to a stevegrant vendetta.

I can think of 5 off the top of my head, I think (hope, in one case) we're the only two still posting.
-
And it would only cost us about £50m to do it...

I saw a lot of people watching her, I was deliberately facing the other way. Apparently she did it the night before as well.

I can't see us picking Fonte as at his age he'll struggle to play twice in a week, never mind three times, so given the missing players we'll go with some combination of Martina, Yoshida, Van Dijk, McQueen and Stephens - the flexibility of Martina, Yoshida and Stephens means we could also leave any of the others out and still field a back 4. Wouldn't fancy us much with Yoshida/Stephens at CB (as well as Yoshida has done this season so far) and Martina and McQueen alongside them though, so I think the most recent starting first team back 4 with Yoshida in for Fonte is going to be the one we pick.

Not that I remember... I remember him being offside loads, and once falling over the ball on the goalline attempting a tap-in, which is much worse.
-
Great news that he's ok - was a very worrying sight to see the blood on the concrete, especially with how packed the concourse was. Glad people managed to get through to him in time - there were a few directing traffic outside the loos and making sure the paramedics could get through as well.

I think you'll find that Javi was actually threatening to kill Mav, who happened to be a police officer... I KEEEEELLLL YOU MABBBEREEKKK still occasionally gets a mention in our social circles. Glad Steve has remembered to mention TSF, the interim bastard child of S4E and "T"SW. Also glad that when I decided to begin the long path to moving (back) to Southampton after not knowing anyone in Bucharest in 2003, SaintsForever was there for me. There have been highs (stuffing Pompey Online twice, the overhead kick at Dean Court) and lows (living with the ex after the housing market collapsed), but most of all, there's always been somewhere for me to post a load of guff about kits, the Premier League Handbook and UEFA coefficients. Fortunately I gave up using it as a dating site after the first attempt.

A left wingback doesn't have to exist for a team to play a 3-5-2, we could just play a wide left sided midfield player (or to keep the front positions the same, use a 3-4-3). Davis could probably play there, he's versatile enough.
