The RoI kit is a 2011 template which is the same as design features in the 2011 Hearts away (pinstripes and "paving effect" in the stripes) , the 2011 Sunderland kit, (diagonal stripes on shoulders at the back), and Saints home kit 2011 (same paving effect in alternate stripes). Out 2012 kit is based on the 2012/13 Sweden template, thin twin pinstripes, the front panel reaching over to a tape on the back of the shoulders. The "tape" is also visible on the back of of other 2012/13 shirts, some in contrast colours.

"His characteristics are what we have been looking for. "He has demonstrated a superb attitude and when we have met him it has only confirmed what our research has told us. He has a hungry and enthusiastic attitude with a desire to work hard". They are Adkins' comments about Rodriguez, but also a clear message about the kind of players we will sign, and the kind we won't. It should be cut and pasted at the top of the HCDAJFU thread and flashed up on the screen at 30 second intervals until the people who don't get it, get it. If someone could pass it on to the lazy national media too, it will save endless links with the likes of Yakubu and er, Michael Owen...

ESPN goals seemed to be popular last season. Video clips of goals before Sky were showing them!

It's not her fault you're always on here. I for one had no idea...

Crap link but url works...

I was sort of joking about England not being better than Saints.
-
In that case we're fine, because it's not the Premiership now either.
-
And in 1974, when relegated from the top division...

Sky usually release the games to be televised up until January within a week or two. They add more at New Year. Ish. 9am June 18th anyway.
-
There's a summary in the pdf.
-
We also got relegated in a kit with red and white striped sleeves. As did Sheffield United in 1994. And Sunderland finished 7th in 1999/2000 with red sleeves. FACT.
-
Ah, we had the stake at £50 with 1/4 odds not £25 with 1/3. Ok then.
-
Yeah, it's in the pdf, can't cut and paste the tables. "Figure 1. Proportion of teams winning the English football league (1947 – 2003) within each shirt colour category, together with the proportion of shirt colours in the top ranked 68 football teams since 1946. Statistical analysis is not possible due to nonindependence of data from year to year."

PS I did just Google this, though it has now been added to the Football Nerd Reference folder in my Favourites.

The dominant home shirt colour for these 68 clubs over the time period was determined and categorized (using http://www.historicalkits.co.uk/index.htm). These were: red (n ¼ 16), blue (23), all white (11), and yellow-orange (9). Where a shirt was mainly one colour plus some white, the team was categorized under the colour. The few mixes of more than one colour (e.g. red/blue) were placed in an ‘‘other’’ category, as were teams wearing shirts of a comparatively rare prime colour (e.g. green, black). One day people will learn not to ask, but that thing about "more teams wearing red" isn't actually true to begin with.

Also, this is probably the study quoted : http://www.dur.ac.uk/r.a.hill/Attrill_et_al_2008.pdf Table I. Here's a 29 page article on it http://qut.academia.edu/DavidSavage/Papers/226009/The_Red_Mist_Red_Shirts_Aggression_and_Team_Sports and one from the opposing perspective : http://econpapers.repec.org/article/tafapeclt/v_3a18_3ay_3a2011_3ai_3a11_3ap_3a1001-1004.htm and here's some statistical stuff : http://www.livescience.com/276-red-outfits-give-athletes-advantage.html Go away and read them. Next time you'll get a LMGTFY link.

Isn't the return on the original stake £93k as opposed to £83k ? £78175 for the win and £15650 for the place (assuming E/W is 1/4 of the odds).
-
As opposed to someone making a completely unqualified statement about teams in red being more successful, you mean?
-
Next question, what to do about Spanish refs giving yellow cards for Greeks winning headers and nudging Polish strikers ?
-
I think we'd give Greece and Poland a game, that's about it. Maybe England ?
