At 9am, though the League Cup ("Capital One Cup") first round draw is the 14th, I believe we're not in it until round 2.
-
Pretty sure the players don't have any say in it and wearing hideous kit is just another part of the job. I don't think pink kits are that bad, Everton originally did it for breast cancer awareness and it was a natural evolution. Having Salmon Pink in your history is always going to open the door to that kind kind of thing too.

Based on last year's debacle I'm pretty sure they had no idea what they were doing. Huge promotion season, then a 3 month wait and both shirts first worn on the same night, presales for a kit no-one had seen, absolute shambles. Rumour is "after the Euros".

Blimey, some progress on here since the last time I looked. I hate the new Lille kits but I doubt we're getting that. Since I last posted the club has dropped the price of the 2011/12 kit by 50% so forget any idea of having the yellow as a third kit - but this model has now basically confirmed the home kit and mentioned a white away - so we're clashing with Stoke and Sunderland f'sure! I had a closer look at the image I've seen, and it may be just the poor quality of the image, but I think the twin pinstripe effect (there are 7 pairs of pinstripes, like the Sweden kit) might actually have one grey pinstripe and one white one paired up. Could just be the quality of the pic though. The collar is a plainer red than the multi-tone of Dan's mock up. Haven't seen seen the sleeves, but they are plain and cuffless on the Sweden shirt Oh and Rabbit, that Barca wannabe fake is hideous, don't ever get a job where you have to draw stuff.

Oh I had, I'm way past trying to correct EVERYONE's crappy spelling of player names.
-
Weirdly I've just come back on the site and now I can't see my links either!

Dunno why your image won't show for me, but that's just Accrington Stanley's exact replica of Liverpool's kit for the previous 5 seasons, it's even made by Umbro. So we've already done that one. It looks more like 1993 Forest without the collar anyway. There are 7 pairs of pinstripes on the new Saints kit, if the Sweden shirt template is followed. Actually, looking at it a little more closely, the Liverpool away from 1982 didn't have the pinstripes cut off near the shoulders, so nearer this style or the Forest one :

If it wasn't for the old school umbro stripes on the shorts, I wouldn't have got the point of that joke at all.
-
I'd like that better, but alas, no.
-
I'd say something like that with a plain v-neck in red might possibly be it. Oh, and the patches should read "Canon League Division One".
-
Unless you happen to be multiple XL or a Small, you probably got one of the last "normal" sizes. As I mentioned earlier, I would imagine the club ran a load of corporate matches at significant cost to the clients, and gave away lots of home and away shirts with those, hence the kits suddenly disappearing, cos there were still loads in stock a week after the season finished.
-
Man U away 1977-ish. No better than having a home kit that looks like Liverpool in 1981 IMHO.

Oh God yeah. I think I prefer geek or statto though. The fact we didn't officially sell the player version of the FA Cup Anniversary kit (with flybe sponsor and Saints apparel logo) in 2006/7 annoys me immensely, though not as much as the fact they eventually flogged some spares off for £2 at a concourse sale and I know someone who bought one. I do however have a player's stock UEFA Cup shirt (no UEFA Cup crest on the back at the top) thanks to the bloke in the club shop taking pity on me after a 8 hour round journey on the train to get kit and match ticket with Bucharest pending 3 days later and me living in South Wales at the time.

That's the attitude that's going to cost us Sigurdsson. That and him wanting to play for the club he was on loan at last season / possibly the manager he was with last season...
-
After his efforts regarding Martinez, I won't believe it even then.
-
It's nice to know people are now consciously aware they are using the wrong name for the League, so thanks! Good appraisal of alpine's comments too.

After the Steve De Ridder You Tube love-fest and how hit and miss that became, I think I'll wait and see him in context (whoever it's for).

Also notable, the use of alternate blue away socks last season. Not the first time we've done that (we had black alternates in 2007 against Leicester and wore red socks with the charcoal kit loads at the end of the 2008/9 season) but it is the first time both pairs have been on sale in the club shop as part of a single away kit combination - the previous two mentioned weren't sold, and whenever we've had 3 sock colours previously they've been as part of full kit ensembles or one-off ad hoc ones. The blue socks were a regularly used, officially sold alternate. They also wore the white ones against Burnley who wore white socks as well, which was pretty silly. What's wrong with having yellow alternate ones rather than blue, I don't know.
-
We've rotated away colours all the way through the Umbro contract : 2008/9 Charcoal 2009/10 Navy 2010/11 Black 2011/12 Yellow so I doubt we'll just go for another yellow. Especially if the thinking behind the home kit is something "different" because people don't already have one like it.

Just checked, away shirts are now 50% off in the online store as stated. They only have XL and upwards (or small in a long sleeved). Shorts are reduced too (again S or 3XL only). Strange as they had loads in stock a few weeks back, I wonder if they hoovered them up giving them to the teams for corporate on-pitch events ? Scrap that for a "third kit" then. I wonder if they've reduced the cost of the away socks, they never got around to putting those online ?
-
LOLz. It is definitely not the collar people are going to have problems with.
-
We're replacing both kits, just like we have for the past 4 years of the Umbro contract. I'm hopeful that due to the design of the home kit, we'll have the reverse as an away kit, and then keep the yellow for thirds due to clashes, but the fact they've actually reduced it (I haven't checked yet), suggests that's not going to happen, so the away kit probably isn't going to be white.
-
The away kit is a possibility. Similar to the new Norway home and away shirts too.
-
There are Diapers in South East Wales too, there's a coach company named it.

We're now in the "official" close season (internationals don't count) so you can argue your official dates any time from now until July 1st when we are definitely, properly, officially in the Premier League again. Nice to keep a track of what's switching over though. I saw Huddersfield appear in "Championship news" on SSN yesterday, so I assume we're in the Prem News there now, too.
