  1. Actually made me laugh, and I'm usually the first one to have a go about people posting cack. You do have to look a little more closely though. Good use of Danns' twitter profile pic as well, I thought.
  2. If they had to "try" you might have a point.
  3. Well, you learn something new every day... this one's from the British museum website from 1896. Maybe it is authentic then... someone else want to look into the materials used to see if they rust ?

    Saints abroad

Funnily enough I went to Alicante in January for my (30th) birthday in 2003, it was about 10 degrees then. Feels surprisingly warm even so, and I did go on the beach, though my shirt was still on. I wonder if that Coyote Ugly bar is still open in the Marina...?
  5. All from the Lithuanian mafia
  6. It's not the montage that's the issue, the style of badge appears to be mass-produced and is surely only 40-50 years old at absolute most - that appears to be a plastic coating for a start. Bakelite was only used for consumer goods from the 1920s and that was the first true plastic, so there's sod all chance it's 100 years old. They probably made it last week and left it outside in the snow to rust it.
  7. I'd imagine he'll be amending his Friends list in the very near future, it was a PM.
  8. I'd be more inclined to believe the fans of this club running the website don't want to prevent any of these transfers from occurring due to this kind of leak, rather than any pressure.
  9. That'll be the end of this thread as well then...
  10. Stats wise, at most 10% of the population is left-handed (est 7-10% from Wiki), and although there is a disproportionately higher number of left-handers in professional sports (apparently due to their left sidedness meaning their dominant side of the brain works more quickly in creative pursuits - or something like that), that proportion is not so great as to bring left-handers up to 25%. You've significantly overestimated the numbers of left-footers out there, unlikely to have more than two in any starting XI, despite the two natural left-sided roles. Players will play to whatever pattern they are told to and attack weaknesses as coached, and the only goals that can be blamed on one full bak or the other are where they alone has made an individual mistake - and if Harding sees half (or twice) as much ball as James then it's hardly a fair comparison anyway.
  11. That someone was wrong, the term started during the World Cup as a collective name for the group of wives and girfriends of the England squad collectively rather than the partner of any individual player. As "the England squad" is a collective term, for something comprised of multiple entities, the term WAG is correct, because the group of players' partners did consist of both "Wives and Girlfriends". The term "WoG" wouldnt be needed or accurate, as when referring to a particular individual player's partner it would already be known if they were a "wife" or a "girlfriend". You wouldn't call Joe Cole's missus a "wife or girfriend", she's his wife. But she's still a WAG as part of the collective group of partners of married and unmarried England players.
  12. Bit simplistic, and you missed the excellent outside of the foot through ball a few games ago at St Mary's (think it was to Waigo to square for Lambert).
  13. I don't think James has been particularly bad at RB but he seems to be better as a defensive midfielder, and he probably won't get in the side much there any more if our rumoured signings are true. FWIW I've been much more impressed with Thomas at RB in Murty's absence, when James plays there we always seem to be slinging crappy crosses at the first defender from deep. At least James has reeled in his tendency to slide tackle from behind and get booked all the time...
  14. Except of course we're winning games rather than losing them, and we're not fielding most of the youth team every week, so crowds are bound to be higher. If we get back to the Prem we'd get 30k plus for every game in the first season and average over 28k after that. The club has a massive catchment area and fans from all over who will come to see top level football regularly but Div 3 football a lot less often. Exeter on Dec 26th proved the fanbase is still around.
  15. In a what? Also, cheers for spoiling, not that I've even read any of the preview chapters after the first one...
  16. Never heard of Uni Craiova then? Pretty big club in Romania, good job for the moulded demiwaved one. Bloody sight bigger than Saints are at the moment domestically anyway, if hopefully not for long. They've played in the European Cup before, pretty sure they play in blue and white though.
  17. Neil Danns Love to watch him play Da-da-doo-doot... Neil Danns Score a goal today da-da-doo-doot Neil Danns Danns Danns Danns Danns Danns Neil Danns With apologies to Lady Gaga for Just Dance... And I be he'd hate it too
  18. Well yeah, which is why I said "I don't think I know enough about the CCC" after the whole Facebook thing brought up a load of possibilities. For one I haven't got a clue who Brian Stock is and I'd be really shocked if Brian Howard was in any way a shocking big name expected to sign for a Prem side...
  19. Has been since yesterday morning. He's also on the front page of Jan 7th Echo, the OS snowman gallery, and my Facebook profile pic. I also sent a pic to Sky News and Sky Sports News, whilst apparently Baj sent one to the BBC.
  20. Which Prem sides were rumoured to be interested in him ?
  21. No he doesn't, he already has : http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,12875_5843505,00.html
  22. I'm starting to think I don't know enough about what would regarded as a "big name" League One player who might have been signing for a Prem side. Cos that bloke's second in line to the hardly setting the world alight Craig Mackail-Smith and I very much doubt that anyone will stand up and take notice of us if we sign him. It would have to be a bigger name than that, or I need to brush up on my CCC footballers. Which admittedly I do, as I'd never heard of Lambert either. I'm at least expecting to have heard of this bloke.
  23. There aren't many Portuguese CCC players (esp since Pele nicked off from West Brom).
  24. Cassie Sumner is Jose Fonte's g/f.
  25. Ah, beat me to it while I was trawling Cassie Sumner's list...!
