Nope Already made my mind up, unless something happens like we get taken over by a zillionaire and tickets will be like gold-dust, then I can't be arsed. There is no benefit, I don't enjoy midweek games, and there are about 6 on average. I also am trying to get fit to have a football season playing next season, so can't justify to the missus doing both, and to be honest, I don't want all weekend, every weekend taken up by football. Obviously if I am still a fat c*nt and not fit to play next season, then I might re-evaluate my position. I will probably go to more away games next season than home, the Northam is now the most tedious, kiddy warrior place on earth, full of posturing 14 year olds in their Clone Island they got off ebay for a fiver, it's just not fun anymore. If the Itchen corner was open then I would probably have moved there, but seeing as it isn't, I don't want to sit anywhere else, my consistant drunkeness on a Saturday afternoon would not bode well with the old farts in the Kingsland and I would probably end up getting b-anned anyway.

You must be taking the p!ss Robsk, surely? See this is one of the main reasons that I cannot stand students, who seem to think that because they went to College/Uni, they are more 'educated' than others who chose to do different jobs. Education is not only available at Uni, it is available in all walks of life, and someone who has not been to Uni is not less educated than someone who has. To be an Infantry Soldier nowadays there is an intensive 5 month course, the hours put in by the recruit in them 5 months will easiliy match how many hours a student would put in to a 2 year course. Then not to mention once in battalion, the almost daily lessons, lectures, exercise etc. And not to mention the months of constant training that goes in to preparing for an operational tour. Not to mention Annual Compulsory Tests Now people learn their 'education' in different ways, an Electrician will learn his on the job, s Salesman will progress on the job, a Soldier will be subject to months of intense training. To try and say that someone who joins the Army at 16 is less educated is completely naive and the typical arrogance of a studet / ex-student. Put my experiences by the age of 21 and yours, then we will see what 'education' is ginge.

Only 10% of people who initially went in to the careers office and said 'I want to be an infantry soldier' ever made it to battalion. People fell away in more things than basic training, such as.. BARB Test ( Initial Academic Test ) Initial Medical Recruit Selection Course Phase 1 training. Infantry Soldier Training etc Certainly when I was in, only 10% of applicants ever made it all the way through to battalion. As for the squeeky clean image, it's ironic that the people that say there is no problem in the Army are the people such as myself who have been there and done it. Some poxy biased documentry hardly shows what is needed in training, nor does Bad Lads Army, any newspaper report etc. How many ex-soldiers have come out and said they have felt bullied etc? The percentage probably equates to about 0.001% of those discharging, and those people are generally the 'weaker' ones. The fact is that, whether you like it or not, Soldiers train to KILL, they are also trained to be mentally tough, as well as physically. If a soldier cannot handle a slap off their fullscrew, then how are they going to cope when their best mate has just been shot, could be saved if they stopped and retreated, but have to leave them to certain death and carry on and battle the enemy? The fact is the ones who are slapped and kick up a stink should be booted out of the Army, they are more of a liability than any other soldier on the battle field, it is the weak ones who cost lives. Yes, some things are inappropriate, if my section commander ****ed on me in the Army then I would kick seven barrels out of him, however the slapping etc is part of the Army and is usually the 'unofficial' way of dealing for things. For example, once when we were due to go to Canada on exercise, I turned up 2 hours late for duty. Now the official line would have been to charge me, which could involve anything up to 28 days in prison. I walked in to camp with everyone else packed and ready to go ( the bird I had been ****ging really wasn't worth it ) , now did my platoon sgt charge me? No.... he gave me 2 options. Body or Head punch. I chose body, was winded for a couple of minutes, and 5 minutes later we were mates again. The same applied to the squaddie who initially threw a punch at that NCO in the programme, if the NCO had gone down the initial line then the recruit would have spent about 2 months in Military Prison before being booted out of the Army. Which one would you choose? People in the

That is the thing that amazes me the most. Even 12 years ago, there was none of that, and I wouldn't have had it any other way. When I was in training, I was a gobby 16 year old straight from school, and I was fookin stubborn with it. The idea of basic training is to effectively 'break' the recruit and wash out all of their civilian attitudes and cultures, then they can begin the process of building you into a soldier. Because of me being a stubborn c*nt and always having the 'stiff upper lip' attitude and not willing to be 'broken', I got treated more harshly than those who balled their eyes out in the first week, whether it be kidney punches, slaps, being left in the CS chamber without respirator, extra duties, being pushed harder in PT etc. They would all be described as 'bullying' nowadays, whereas nobody in the Army saw it that way when I was training in 1996. The idea of red and yellow cards is quite frankly embarrasing nowadays. When I completed my training, I was proud of the fact I was one of less than 10% who passed out of Infantry training based on the numbers that applied to get it initially at the careers office. Nowadays any mug can walk in and get through training, which no doubt means that sooner rather than later, we will lose our label as one of/ if not THE best fighting force in the world, man for man.

That is my main one. I am going to spend the next year trying to get myself back into shape so I can have a couple of years playing footy. I am not sure how long the back will last though, even if it's just pub footy level then I do want to have a go though.

Good thread, if I had paid my fiver then I would have started this exact thread. I am 29 tommorow and suffering the same fait. I am not bothered about being 30 next year, infact I am looking forward to it. Although there are a few things which I want to do before I am 30. - Go on one last 18-30's holiday. - Go to some Drum and Base rave and get messy. - Get stoned / pilled up just once.

With respect, you are Navy, and not the Army, 'danger' wise, there is no comparrison. 2 of my old platoon have died in Iraq, 3 more seriously injured. Most battalions on the frontline in Iraq lose around 20 lads either by death or seriously injured on a 6 month tour, depending on their duties. That equates to about a 1 in 25 lads w chance of getting killed or seriously injured in them 6 months... you tell me another job which is more dangerous. Now I don't campaign for better pay for them, everyone who joins the Army knows why they are doing it. I never looked at the Army as a long-term career, I joined because I didn't want to doss about in College and Uni, and wanted to experience some things which otherwise I would never be able to. I knew the pay and accepted it. What I do object to is other public sectors going on strike demanding more pay, especially the fire service who think that they warranted more than double an Infantry Soldier on the basis that their job was 'dangerous' . Now if the fire service could provide stats to show that they have a 1 in 25 chance of getting killed or seriously injured within a 6 month period then they are welcome to the pay rise. The whole 'thicko' thing about the infantry is a load of ******** as well. Yes the entry tests are not all that academic, but there is a high level of academic skill needed in the Army, whether it be simply operating a weapon ( anyone who thinks that you just point and shoot is naive ) , map reading ( not in the look at a street map sense ) , advanced first aid, intelligence suspect recognition, armoured vehicle driving, radio procedure, marksmanship principles, NBC training, Drill, Mine Clearance, operating various complexed electronic weapons, communications and navigation systems, artillary etc etc... They are just some of the BASIC roles of which ALL Infantry Soldiers need to be fully conversant with, it's not a choice, it's a must, and not being able to do these correctly could result are a matter of life or death in most cases. I wonder if the ghey twin could possibly kill himself or someone else if he pres Ctrl + Delete the wrong way round? Yes the Infantry of yesteryear was not a complexed job and anyone with half a brain could do it, but nowadays with the technologies which are used by our Infantry on a daily basis whilst on operational tours, 'thickos' rarely make it through training. The training nowadays is 5 months, in them 5 months there are many, many theory tests which require alot of study and hours of revision, if you don't pass them, you don't pass out, simple as that. Even once you are in your battalion you still have your ACT's ( Annual Compulsary Tests ) , if you don't pass them, then you don't go home on the weekends until you have passed, and you don't go on operations until you have passed, if you keep failing then you are disciplined, if you still keep failing, you are booted out. The 'thickos' which you talk of, rarely make it through Catterick nowadays.

Any 'soldier' who claims they are being bullied is a complete loser and should be kicked out of the Army anyway. That programme was so biassed anyway, he was just desperately trying to find a story to justify his 6 months in the army. For example, the story about one of the NCO's knocking out one of the recruits in retaliation to the recruit trying to hit the Corporal. The programme tried to portray that as bullying, yet it was the recruit who threw the first punch. It didn't mention that if the Corporal had gone down the official line rather than give him a slap then the recruit would have being doing 28 - 60 days prison in the glasshouse. Would you rather take a relatively tame kicking or spend up to two months in jail? I know what I would pick. The Army nowadays is so stupidly politically correct due to do-gooders who know nothing about what is required when in the Army. For that reason we will no doubt soon lose our reputation as the best fighting force in the world.

LMFAO You little obsessed freak, paying money to register on a rival fans site. That does take the biscuit C*rp. From now on, no matter how well you lot do, no matter how badly we play.... you will always be the obsessed little freako that is so desperate for some meaning in life that he has to register on a rival teams messageboard simply to flex his ego from the safety of his own PC. You have had enough invites to back up your gobby internet persona in the flesh, you have constantly dodged the issue, even though you insist you are part of the Somerstown Krew ( lol ) Don't bother replying, I only have 3 posts and can't be arsed to spend them talking to some little cyber warrior that would never back anything he says up to someones face, so in short, there is no point speaking to a cyber persona again. Goodnight.

14k is embarrassing, but at the end of the day, there are two games in the space of a couple of days. There are a number of reasons why personally I can't be arsed any more ( although I still turn up ) Northam Stand - As alot of the older faces have either moved away or don't go to games any more, they have been replaced with teenagers in their fake Stone Island, thinking they are the dogs nads, spending the game starting off pointless songs and goading away fans when they would be running faster than Usain Bolt if ever confronted. There is a group of about 20 of us at the back of 42 who have had enough of some of these idiots, It very nearly kicked off last night and I dare say it will do in the very near future if all these little green street elite don't sort their attitudes out. I looked around the area I sit, 42 MM and I seriously was one of the oldest in view, even though I am still in my 20's! I wish that the Ticket Office had found a way to turn block 42 into an adult price only block, this would have such a positive effect for atmosphere and general enjoyment of the game for many. Hopefully next season it will be something that they look at again. The Pricing - Two games in a couple of days, people are not going to shell out £50 for two games of football under the current situation, the attendance on Saturday will be a good indication of how many we will get for the rest of the season.

Really? Are you sure? One of my good mates who was arrested at Derby for 'swearing' and is now serving a 3 year ban from every ground in the UK as well as having to pay £300 fine and travel back to Derby for the court hearing may have a different view.
-
The fans left in the Northam are mongs, the first thing I will be doing in the morning is emailing Mr Luker to change my seat. I am almost 29 and seemed to be the oldest c*nt at the back of block 42 by at least 12 years. We go 2-1 down and some mongs start to sing 'Swing Lowe' , now everyone is entitled to an opinion but fookin hell lads, have a word with yourselves. * Our fans our an embarrassment, our lack of fans are an embarrassment too. Singing 'Oh when the Saints' for 20 minutes is tedious to say the least as well, and the renditions of 'Southampton boys in town' and 'Southampton till I die' took the biscuit. * I am allowed to comment on the said mongs on an internet messageboard because they were told in no uncertain terms what mongs they were during the game. Oh, one last shout out to the lad in front of me who not only dared wear a replica shirt over a hoodie. It also had the following on the back Jamie 4 Emma ..... nice one mate, had me in fits of giggles all game.

I am going to have a forum on http://www.awaysupporters.co.uk once I finally launch her on November 1st. On this forum you can feel free to talk about immigrants, students, 'yoof' and any other non-pc subjects you care to talk about. There will also be a 'ginger' forum, exclusively for subjects relating to Robsk -
Allow me to use my last post on you C*rpy. You are right, I have nothing to say about a rumour in The People, if you believe it then it shows what a mug you are. I also have nothing to say about you making up stories, if they ever show any substance then I might comment on them. Let's face it, even your owners have been saying you are getting a new stadium for the last 10 years and nothing has happened, so I am hardly going to listen to a little factory worker like you am I? Do you want to comment on your failure to sell out on Saturday? Do you want to comment on your failure to sell out the first European game in your little clubs history? Do you want to comment on tickets still readily available on general sale for all of your next 3 games? 20,000 is a realistic estimate of what our average will be. The core average will be about 17-18k, but the larger crowds will push the average up. Why don't we wait till the end of the season eh C*rpy? If I was you, I would toddle off back to your own board and discuss amoungst yourself why you can't sell out a 20k capacity stadium for your first European game in the clubs history, even when ticket prices are almost halved. Now THAT is embarrasing C*rp, don't you think? For the record, Saints last European game was a complete sell-out, at full ticket price, and it was about our 8th or 9th season in the clubs history that we had been involved in European competition, not our FIRST.
-
I don't expect to see 20k turn up every week, but some weeks there will be alot more, for games like Reading, for example. I don't think there will be an attendance anywhere near as low as Blackpool which had numerous reasons for it such as... a) Lunch kick-off b) On Sky c) The most 'unattractive' fixture of the season. d) Summer holidays, when attendances are down all over the country. Make sure your last post is a good one C*rpy. xxx
-
If we look on a comparable level... Southamptons last game in Europe, full price tickets = 32,000 sell out. Pompeys first ever game in Europe = About 15-16,000 Yes, we have more than double your fans. Southamptons average attendances in the Premiership = Over 30,000 Portsmouth average = Approx 19,000 ( You can look at averages over 2 games, I think you know as well as us that our averages for the season will be about the 20k mark. )
-
I have some observations. 1) Premier League and you still have over 1000 seats left empty. And yes, they were Pompeys, Boro had a smaller allocation, but filled it. 2) You still have more than 5,000 almost half price tickets left for your first ever European game in history. 3) Your next 3 home games are all on general sale now. P*mpey = Wigan of the South

My god, bungle is a Lib Dem MP. And he seems to know alot about Romsey. I would like to say now that I know nothing of who decorated a local Lib Dem MP's house with Conservative election banners, it certainly was not me and I was not there. I was also not involved in any incident which may have caused Hampshires first 'cooling off closure order' for the Luzborough House, and was not the cause of the local Romsey MP forcing the management of the pub to refurbish and turn it into a 'food pub'. It was not me.
