  1. Considering we have made huge amounts from player sales and spent relatively little, how have all the other small/medium teams like West Brom, Watford, Bournemouth etc survived/passed ffp?! I struggle to think of anyone else who has constantly made large profits in transfer windows? Most of the other 19 teams makes a large loss each window.... are we the only team being run without huge losses every year?
  2. Darren Powell I second that! We then bought Wayne Thomas to answer our defensive prayers! Took about 20 minutes to realise he wouldn't Jesus George Burley made soooo many terrible signings
  3. Well said We have been spoilt rotten since Markus turned up. Since getting back to the premier league we've been a selling club (same as everyone outside top 5/6) but we've still been lucky enough to have played great football under top managers. This season our sales/recruitment hasn't been as good and our new manager has struggled with a weakened squad playing more games than previously and it's caught up with us. Simple Let's see how we get on with one game per week and fingers crossed a signing or two
  4. Since when have we been a 'big 5' club in any meaning of the term?
  5. Puel is the boards perfect man. He's doesn't rock the boat and will do enough to keep us away from the relegation zone. Bring another manager in and they will demand that the fonte situation is sorted, want a top striker signed and no players sold in January. That's never going to happen.

  7. 'Dr' Barry Gale is a big lad, give us some presence up front. He's already on the books too..... Sturridge will never happen, Liverpool would have to pay like £100k a week of his wages for him to fit our wage structure. That's before you try and convince him to leave a title challenger to go to a mid table club?? Think most ppl called this striker problem at the start of the season. Let your two top scorers leave, don't replace them and try and cope with two injury prone strikers How bout something like a Rashford loan? To bring some energy and pace up top?
  8. If the last few games in Europa League didn't depress him then not sure what will! He's a class above rest of the squad
  9. Please please no, people will only realise how good the Leibherrs reign has been once they are gone. I'd like to think that if they do want to sell then it would be to someone with the clubs best interests at heart
  10. Have no idea why we were even considering loaning him out?? fair enough if we had loads of strikers and werent in europe but far as i can see we only have two other strikers and at least 6 extra games he can play in. Just started showing little signs of the magic that got him in the England setup up and have been watching him sprint, seems to have his pace back. Fingers crossed for his recovery. He might even end up being that top striker we never signed in the summer
  11. Think it's a game we would win with last seasons squad but I think we are about the same level as Swansea this year. I'm going 1-1 draw I think the big clubs are much stronger this season and there's a bunch of smaller teams who are weaker than before. Us, west brom, Stoke (Be ok once Bony gets going), Sunderland, Swansea and possibly Palace
  12. Always looked unfit and I remember him and Rasiak playing absolutely out of their skins for one night game in our championship relegation season. Both left the club few days later.....funny that
  13. My thoughts exactly
  14. I'd take another 10 years of Liebherr ownership over the numpties that seem to be the norm in football. Watford, Hull, Cardiff, Leeds etc I think our fishy neighbours are a fine example of what could easily have happened to us
  15. I understand everyone's frustrations with lack of investment on the pitch and constant playing with fire of selling our best players year in year out but the Liebherrs will only really be appreciated when they leave. I would take losing 2-1 to Arsenal over the garbage I watched for years after premier league relegation any day That really is the difference between good and bad ownership. Remember how we would happily have accepted the Clowns that run Coventry city to take us over
  16. Fonte was wrong side for the penalty but they both had hold of each other, never a penalty. Much easier to make example of saints and Stoke with the new rules in the penalty area. Referee would not have given it at the other end
