    Violence

Late 60's early 70's against every london side, on the terraces at the Milton, followed by running battles down Hill Lane to the station. not saying anymore as i will be accused by the PC brigade of glorifying violence. still made lots of mates from different parts of the city, who are still friends today, during the week lots of area rivalry but on saturdays we were Saints
  2. so its still achieveable then? big concern for me is that the back 4 and front 2 are sorted , AP knows who they are but other than Hammond i believe the other 3 midfield places are up for grabs and imo there are no obvious occupants for those places, Gillett. Morgan, Whotton, Thompson.Nellis, Lalana,Gobern. James,Holmes(reputation growing every week he misses) it is the key just hope AP gets it right
  3. I booed the day we beat Carlisle 6 nil away, i thought we should have got 7 i was slightly p*ssed at the time.
  4. Scared
  5. Only lost 2 out of six,
  6. fact or fiction? you are talking him into being a world beater surprised no premiership club wanted him. for what is worth i think he is a good technical footballer but needs to show some steel before he can be spoken of in the terms you are doing, so far he has achieved very little in the game in this country and needs to discover consistancy
  7. the thing is football has moved on the blind loyalty to your team still exists but even those people now want to be entertained for their money and will show dis pleasure if they are not satisfied but above all they want to win we are no worst than other clubs and better than many as the level of gates indicate. a winning team is all that ultimatly matters people would even put up with crap football if we won every week
  8. Why did they not sign him during the window then, or did i miss the trail of offers? i wish people would not using superlatives for young guys learning their trade and stop heaping pressure on them which rebounds when they do not preform, rupert made that mistake at the beggining of last season ans some appear to want to continue the trait.

    Ironic

how do you tell fergie had a crap record at united for a few seasons
  10. 64000 DOLLAR QUESTION because he has not been consistent

    Ironic

BUT not Reading. i really believe we have to stick with a manager for more than a season to ever have a chance of rebuilding the club, even if it means going down again

    Ironic

but we were always likely to be bottom until october/november unless we won every game and another side lost every game

    do not understand
  14. totally disagree AP realised he need to shore up the defence first, do not concede easy goals and you win games. there are lots of points to be played for have faith in "your" fellow fans the gates will not go below 10k and after living through the rise of this club in the 60's and the fall since 2003 i really believe that in 5 years we will be back in the premiership.
  15. but we are in this division
  16. in growing toenail?
  17. back to the same old saints until today i thought we had improved in every game but today we were light weight and offered very little threat unless we got the fullbacks forward and crossed low in to the box. Defence is slowly getting sorted but we need a threat up front lets hope Papa whatever can do the business
  18. this is going to be a tough game, they have a new manager and whenever saints meet new managers the results are poor
  19. He is a gooner so comment is understandable
  20. so true i expect the flak will soon be flying in your direction
  21. he lost big time, his job, sad thing was he took us down with him
  22. do not forget we only sacked Gray the rest left for lots of reasons all with the word mutual in the reason
  23. 1st class catering radio station insurance business jobs for the boys
  24. Thanks cannot afford the i30 but the i10 seems to have lots of good internal features and appears good value for the money although it lacks omph on the motorway
  25. Interesting topic reading MLT's book you get the feeling that since the Board sacked Chris Nicholl the trend , other than a few seasons, has been downward. The appointment of Branfoot and then the loss of Ball, i had forgot Guy the Snake had his hand in that, and the rush again my Guy the Snake to bring in secure retirement homes in 97 meant that a club build on solid steady finance was suddenly reliant on Sky money and an "us and them" culture developed at the club. as MLT a man called Rupert should never have been involved with football. the other reason is southampton as a city has never really been big enough to support a top 10 club for long but to big to be a 3rd/4th division side UNTIL NOW
