Best performance so far, but beware we said the same thing after Brum last season. Thought that everyone played well although Thomas showed why he will be on the bench a lot this season. Thought Brum exploited James and Mellis after Murty went on, Mellis in particular, all game did not know where Carr was, after saying that he was good going forward especially in first half although seemed to lose his way/confidence in second period. Need to reproduce that level of threat in league games now
-
will it be a premiership team though or just some unknowns getting a run out
-
Premiership Club Team likely to be filled with Reserves

Think his reputation is growing by not playing, being built up to a level he may not be able to achieve instantly. when will we learn

think you may be nearer the truth than you realised

I believe Alpine was in attendance. Interested in his match verdict after seeing the game live

Why did the ball boys have the balls taken from them?
70's Mike replied to lordswoodsaints's topic in The Saints
Ref trying to earn oints from his assessor, also thought he took the advantage rule to new levels today it was almost like Rugby with play going on for ages before he went back to the original alledged offence -
will do Tim, us old boys are getting nearer to retirement but the Chapel has a good few of us in it, even heard a kness up mother brown from the Itchen today unless i dreamt it.

Jake Thompson needs to watch a video of MLT in his younger days, he needs to try things and realise that some times they may not come off but sometimes they will, the ball is like a red hot spud to him at present. AP should start with him on Tuesday and tell him to just keep taking on the full back,

Agreed

disagree about the second half , especially the first 30 mins where we upped the pace and got in their faces. we have to accept we are watching 3rd division football and that we are a side being build from nothing playing against some very combative teams who have been together for a few years, Just because we have a nice stadium, a decent academy does not mean the opposition have to lie down in fact the surroundings spur them on
-
hi Tim had a good chat to Steve Jewitt and Pete Wilson at half time we all agree that things are slowly getting better and the good times will be back , we just need to be patient and let AP do his job, we are getting there
-
Think you will find that those doing good jobs are in the majority, yes there are one or two glory hunting clubs in the Tyro, but they represent say 20 sides out of the 200 plus in the 5 age groups and the same applies in the Mid Solent league. I ran sides for many years with my sons in and without them and have rarely seen grown men ball out 9 and 10 year olds, maybe it is the company you keep. With out all these volunteers the game at all levels in this country would eventually die as a spectator sport because it is there time, effort and money that produces the future stars because the education system no longer activily supports sport, At SMS today the Under 10 Academy side were going through their paces at half time where do you think most of them come from in football terms
-
Weird realyy even after the last 2 results I am still looking forward to the game, going to SMS at the moment does not seem to be a chore , unlike last season
-

i do not know Frank but i suspect it was never even considered as SLH because noses in the trough were being well fed and ego's massaged so the thought of diluting that power by bring in other investors etc was never on the agenda but as Wes said, i think, the plc was build on Sand and relegation was always going to lead to admin once the Sky money ran out. the only comfort i get out of the whole sorry mess is than Guy Askham never made a penny following his decision in 97
-
the arguments have been done to death, but we were a plc in name only with the major shareholders sitting on the board and running the business on a daily basis, at the present in small businesses all over the country the owners are raising funds my lots of means, acting as security, to plow into their businesses. we did it once with a rights issue, i do not know what Risdale lost at Leeds or Ashley will lose at Newcastle but in real terms other than Wilde and Crouch none of the main shareholders in SLH lost real money because their costs of investment were very small
