  1. disagree there are good defenders in this division , they do their jobs defend and concentrate, Thomas has not shown since he has been at SMS that he is capable of doing both in the same game. we have to make sure that our players, in your terms, are not more sh*t than the opposition
  2. Not sure if that is entirely true. the argument is that some of the players are just not good enough, and it would not matter who is in charge , they still would not be good enough.
  3. not always they got John Deacon once
  4. who cares they both were failures before they came here ( in coaching terms) and both fulfilled their potential. it had nothing to do with money, plenty of clubs are short of cash, not many try and re-invent the wheel. it was one man his vision and ego
  5. us old ones know how to behave these days
  6. WHY bother he will never believe you
  7. One home defeat , Rupert let JP lose how many last season?
  8. personally it would not be the same without you , perhaps if you survive Nineteen can organize a joint event sorry forget he just knocks anyone who actually tries to do anything
  9. Lots of us "good old boys" sit in the Chapel, it is the "All Generations Stand"
  10. May be AP has motivated the rest to step up their performances and Gillett looked good last season because the rest were so poor
  11. define more successful your high attendances were due to the policy of letting in navy personnel for free
  12. Not sure if we are cost cutting thought we were just spending more wisely and on the right things
  13. do not give a sh*t just wondered if Guy the Snake was there Saturday
  14. funny how most of the jocks mentioned were Hard Men
  15. i feel slightly sorry for him. he was slotted into a position for a lot of last year which gave him a lot of freedom but has not helped him develop as a player. he looked at times on saturday as though he was completely loss and did not know what to do, he always arrived to tackle or pass just to late, he obviously as ability but AP's big problem will be where to play him, if he does pick him
  16. which was exactly my point Eric Martin George O'Brien
  17. not getting into that old argument, but football decisions were taken by non football people
  18. i agree i was just sitting here thinking about the last decent one we had, and am really struggling without wading through IN THAT NUMBER
  19. i suppose the big difference is that previously bad decisions taken off the pitch led to bad performance on it. Now we appear to be able to just look at performances on the pitch
  20. Difficult Jimmy Gabriel Was Telfer a Sweaty ?
  21. who was the last decent jock we had on the pitch
  22. vote is pleasing last season to many times it was KD by a mile lots of different choices yesterday
  23. not arguing with that just saying for us old ones it is a hard thing to accept
  24. i think it is a great question the hardest thing watching for th last few seasons is the realisation that most of the players on view are , in football terms, second class.
  25. think there is a huge assumption that away fans all come by coach and will go down Britannia road , problem is that is not the case with London based clubs
