  1. Alan Knill at Bury for me
  2. All beat me to it Cedar Press Apparantly Goodies Fish and Chips Shops in Chandlers Ford, Totton and Romsey are opening next Sunday with either proceeds or profits going to SFC
  3. For me the issue of JP/Wotte was there complete lack of knowledge on the CCC. Who knew them, how could they ever get decent loanees and keep them? From day one they have both been out of their depth, i forgot we beat Birmingham in a mickey mouse cup game. Wotte's onlt redeeming factor is he is better than JP and if he had been in charge all season may have kept us up, although imo he was always working closely with JP. hE JUST CAUGHT on quicker that pretty passing and lightweight boys were not the way to win in the CCC. The other point is that Wolves have got promoted with a very young squad but a good spine , just shows it is always about identifying good players in the lower leagues something JP/Wotte could not do.
  4. as Sir Alex advises young managers to pick your chairman not your club, there is no way Darren would have come here with Rupert in charge, afterall the Fergusons are a football family
  5. Agreed a lot depends on who buys the club. my concern is that our academy does not produce big strong players, we almost seem to turn away anyone over 6ft, the whole club will need restructuring and unless we have a manager who can pick up good strong non league players capable of making the transistion to full time pros we will struggle
  6. OH DEAR as i have not missed a home game all season, pay for 3 season tickets your response shows what a real ar*ehole you are
  7. Your last sentence is the 64 thousand dollar question , would they have left if we were still a premiership club OR they saw that we really wanted promotion the first year after relegation

    Wotte OUT

BUT like Mick McCarthy he has not spend a vast amount of money, Wotte was at the club and must have some input regarding the rubbish we bought into the club.
  9. thing is it was before Paul Chuckle was born ,although we finished second in 84
  10. last time Soul Cellar was mentioned on a thread, Sundance/19NC threw his toys out of the pram, accused everyone who drank in there of being yobs and restated the Lowe Line that the club never existed before 1997.

    Wotte OUT

difference is Pearson did it with players he inheirited , look what he did this season with players he picked.
  12. Basically sums up my feelings , only advanatage i have is that supporting since 1961 i saw all the good days.
  13. This is now me, took it in turns to drive home with eldest and was worried what youngest had posted on my behalf. Today summed up our whole season for me, other than the odd flukey performance we have just been PLAIN POOR. As fans we have been sold down the river, what is hard to take is we see Wolves promoted with young players and Leicester and we ended up with Peckhart, Robertson, Gasmi, Gobern, Pullis etc and being honest even are so called good academy players DMG, Lallana, Lancashire etc are not as good as some of the young players other clubs are finding SLH was built on sand after the reverse takeover , today it has crumbled to nothing
  14. you are so sad, by the way i missed you in Sheffield
  15. I am 70's Mike youngest son, he has just phoned home and he and my elder brother are not happy driving home from Sheffield. Many of the words he used i cannot type on here but gutless and clueless are two i can. I did not help the mood by laughing and saying glad i stayed in bed this morning This is now me, took it in turns to drive home with eldest and was worried what youngest had posted on my behalf.
  16. The way people acquired their shares really answers the original question, other than wilde and crouch none of the larger shareholders paid a fortune for their shares , so have not lost much
  17. click on the link on the first post on this thread
  18. i know some will say it was a smoke screen or red herring but Lowe just gained a reputation , fairly or not, of spending money on things other than the first team. People just believed he could find money for dividends, share buybacks , Wilkinson, Clifford, radio stations etc but could not up the wage ceiling slightly. imo his whole era was littered with wrong choices of how to spend what we had rather than not spending
  19. Problem is the definition of good football is a personal thing and many were not fooled by the "flatter to decieve2 football or beating Birmingham in a meaningless cup.
  20. Ivan Golac against WBA at the Dell , hardest shot i ever saw, in at RB Barry Horne at Dell from 40 yards , cannot remember opponents, in at RM Shilton in goal, he scored for Leicester against Saints Will have to search memory banks
  21. exactly, most of the people i see at away games , i also see at SMS. These arguments always appear when tickets are rationed , used to happen at The Dell " only game i missed was when they handed out cup vouchers" people appeared like mad in 76
  22. OS says pay on day only now as we have sold all tickets we had been sent
  23. 1984 ,took hours to get home by coach
  24. Interesting question , i HAVE seen 5 cup semi final, 2 cup finals, league cup final, charity shield, zenith data cup final( still the biggest gathering of saints fans at a game), been to Germany, France, Belgium and Ireland to see team play, 2 promotions and 2 relegations( do not want another one), was present the day in Middlesboro we went top of the old division one for the first time ever, Notts County after the rape allegations, Dellhurst park brought two sons up to share that love of the club and city and what hurts me is looking at them suffer over the last few seasons, living in border country the fall of the saints matched by the skates rise, just want my kids (21 and 14) to experience all i did watching for me still the greatest club on earth SOUTHAMPTON FOOTBALL CLUB
  25. Whilst i agree my fear is we only end up with 2100 fans rather than 4000 because season ticket holders do not pick up the allocation quick enough and Forest limit us to the first allocation
