  1. private jets at the airport, yachts in ocean village and now posh cars on the M3
  2. not exactly true in lowes case
  3. thing is we only had 30k for 5 years , the rest of the clubs history hardcore 15k. in fact if you lokk at sms 32000 less 3200 away fans = 28800 less 2000 corporate( first to desert) = 26800 we never had time to grow the hardcore
  4. but if they had all the facts and figures in front of them , rather than rumour and guesses, may be they would agree
  5. it will be interesting to read the match thread after saturdays game to see how many of those who moan about attendances are actually sat behind the keyboard at 3pm. Still i am sure you all have good reasons which are more valid than other non attending people. i suspect those moaning about the crowd levels are the same as those moaning about tomorrows meeting
  6. What a strange club we are , a man who gave us our only throphy in 50 odd years not welcome at the club by some supporters.
  7. but that is my point other than Illingsworth does anyone know anything about the Trust leaders? the orginal trust leadership had some highly qualified professional people on it but were led up the garden path by MW and basically used.the current leadership needs to come out of the shadows and give the details you say you would need to know. just out of interest i am 55 a chartered accountant working in industry, mainly helping ailing companies that my bosses like to buy and turn round, i asked them to bid for SFC but , i am sorry to say they send are you mad
  8. not if they really understand football and business, the product is crap and any investor , worth there salt, knows that it will need improving to boost gates
  9. So outside of Chorley, Illingsworth, Lawrie And Mary Corbett would you welcome anyone else, you do not know me say i said i was involved would you support it or just kick me
  10. interesting you mentioned the skates, many years ago i believe they had a fan on the board, guy called John Moore. Think it is was just after Mandick got involved or it could have been Deacon's era but the idea was to attract the average punter back. Some of the comments on here are a bit harsh because trying to do something , however ill conceived, must be better than sitting on your backside doing nothing. Only concern i have is that they should announce who is going to the meeting not just SAints Trust and SISA, let the Echo publish the INDIVIDUALS details , not hide behinf organisations. I have made my pledge on here but the paying of it could be effected if i am not sure as to who is going to use it. Many will knock Rich Chorley and others like Chris Newman, although i think Chris is a regular at Eastleigh now, but without their behind the scenes work we would have been watching League One football already at The Dell because SMS would not have happened.
  11. totally agree with you but i am not so concerned that the current attendances will deter an investor, any worth his salt will have worked out that we have a hardcore of 15/16k and that will increase rapidly with success on the pitch. My concern with the current lack of numbers is the really short term. ie our last income before wages have to be paid etc
  12. Sort of happening with bank system collapse, propped up by state ?
  13. Not be called rupert or guy
  14. my son is doing modern history he is thinking about doing a Masters because job market is so poor, me, i think he is just work shy , although to be fair he does work as a casual for the post office to fund himself
  15. Sorry just stating it as i see it lets hope whoever vets the PL rejects does a better job than whoever did it this season
  16. Because the Irish are better
  17. including Southern Electric i believe
  18. Cheeky whipersnaper? we lived in a shoe box
  19. in the 60's i believe , always used to be a bloke calling out "Golden Goal" tickets as we walked through the car park when i was a kid
  20. or was it Golden Goal tickets
  21. just say it as i see it
  22. to be fair any buyer will have done their homework and know that 18k rather than 25k is going to be the norm unless the team is successful. the big attendances, imo, are needed to extent the potential offer period rather than attract a buyer
  23. always been the same the rich and famous only acknowledge who they support when the club is doing well. i am afraid it is down to the mug punter on the terrace to finance the club in the future, something this club used to be good at
  24. in theory you may be right Nick , problem is the current academy has no jewels in the crown and the longer we stayed outside the premiership the less liklihood we have of attracting them. Do not believe the line about "they get a chance at Southampton" attracting kids, the youth football club i am involved with has just seen 3 go to pompey rather than saints because their parents believe , as do all, that their sons are going to be good enough for the premiership rather than league one. the other issue is will we be able to retain our academy status in a new business or will we just become another centre of excelence
