This thread just proves that as long is associated with Southampton Football Club, the fan base will be split. Good results will push it under the carpet BUT it will always be there. Lowe has tried to keep a low profile this time but with his supporters bigging up every basic decision , turning loanees into world beaters , he might as well lead the team out on Saturdays. my fear is we are stuck with him for a long time because of statements like " we will only sell to the right buyer" whatever that means. i

"Class" a much abused adjective, on loan from Chelsea and Scunnys player of the season hardly ringing endorsements. The proof will be in CCC games not in a meaningless cup competition
-
I admire your optimistic approach, i am not convinced Cork and Lancashire are really ready. imo you can get away with inexperienced players in midfield. up front but not convinced about central defence.

wish i could feed my family for £50 a week

2 adults , one 14year old and a twenty year old away at Uni but home every otherweekend for game. Gas £45 includes service contract Electric £56 2 PC's, xbox (on line) and Wii Only have heating on in winter, and for 1 hour in morning and then off all day until 3pm . Try not to turn it on until temp in morning below 6 degrees

Locks Heath to Millbrook every day , although when i started for current employer negoiated hours to be 7.30am to 4pm. Traffic not to bad in morning but joining M27 from M271 is a pain, I wonder if roadworks between 3 and 5 will end up with fast lane ending like at the skates end

Forgot all about this , someone has been busy. is anyone goin to own up ?

there speaks another wise head

Paine Stokes Funnell three really significant goals in club history
-
Agree but history of the club shows you need to have experience at the back, midfield and upfront. We , imo, really need an experienced midfield player and striker. A mix of 5 experienced plus 6 lesser experienced would be beneficial to the younger players in the long term.

Great day out. Was looking at In That Number last night to remind myself what a great club we were and hopefully will be again, but at 54 not sure if it will be in my life time
-
Went down hill from when those guys started to post. "Club did not exist before 1997" drove away the likes of FF etc , stopped the Soul Cellar type threads with their PC attitude.
-
Driven away by the "club did not exist before 1997" people , same reason Soul Cellar thread stopped

Your first paragraph just about sums up what is wrong and went wrong with Southampton Football Club. That attitude comes from the top and , as shown by the gates so far this season, people cannot be bothered
-
Apathy , people cannot be bothered, we are down to the hardcore and the gates will only go up if we start WINNING
-
Agree with the Dutch being part of a strategy and accept that was necessary change for us. But struggle to believe the Salary differential quoted by you.
-
the other issue is we could go on our own because if you lived in the city boundaries public transport was available. With no football, other than the FA Cup final and World Cup on tv, going to The Dell was it if you wanted to watch football.
-
may be true but the fact appears to be that people of southampton , not 100% committed to the club, believe Lowe is the devil incarnate. Only my opinion
-
I hope your right but most of those who post on here are 100% committed. Talking to people around the City, people who used to go fairly regularly , there is a huge amount of apathy towards the club the last 5 years both on and off the pitch are taking there toll. Money is an issue but only because the expectation of success has been eroded and people cannot be bothered.
-
Agreed some are burying their heads blaming holidays, sky etc but the results of last year at home and the loss at home to Birmingam are the real reasons. Unless you are 100% committed then losing games at home will cripple attendances, Jan has to find away to play good passing football that WINS games or 15k will be the norm
-
the worry is 15k becomes the norm , and people get used to doing something else on a saturday afternoon. Results rather than performance are crucial or this could end up in tears
-
Agreed but accounts are always out of date, hence the speculation
