  1. Cos their values go down from this point onwards maybe? I'm not suggesting we sell either of them by the way. I am just trying to see things from a Southampton Football Business perspective. The SR philosophy seems to be buy young talent and sell them at their peak prices and then reinvest in more young talent...rinse and repeat.
  2. Bayer linked with another winger from Barca: https://www.barcablaugranes.com/fc-barcelona-transfer-rumors-news/2023/8/22/23841177/bayer-leverkusen-approach-barcelona-for-ez-abde-transfer They seem to be shopping in the sub €20m market. I can't see them spending €30m on Tella. They brought in a shed load for Diaby, but have spent a few bob already on a striker and a right winger.
  3. As soon as Martin was appointed, players being caught in possession, leading to goals conceded, seemed inevitable. Not sure that has happened yet, but it will.
  4. Decent number of goals in the Norwegian top flight for a midfielder. The standard of football looks pretty poor. Much more of an attacking midfielder (from that video at least) than Kerber (who looks like more of a holding midfielder).
  5. He wants a move, he said he wanted to be playing in the Prem, but we are preventing a move happening with a huge price tag. If that's the case, and I am speculating here of course, then it's not really us looking to sell. Doesn't mean he won't go.
  6. So, if someone offers €30m for Tella your answer is no. That's a lot of money to decline, but I can understand your argument. Are we considering selling KWP? Who has offered what? Timing of player sales is critical. Newcastle (possibly) offered £40m for Salisu in a January window and we turned it down. 18 months later, with very little to show for it on the pitch, he's sold for £15m.
  7. We seem to have a set a pretty high fee (if you believe what has been written so far) for Tella. €25-30m is not exactly a `come and get me' price. Is Adams not signing a new contract 18 months ago not him pushing for a move?

another reason I thought he would want a permanent move away. Being told you are not wanted must be hard to take. I'd of wanted a clean break. Maybe he is biding his time and thinks a new manager, should that happen, might see him in a different light.

What's the thought process behind it just being a loan (from a West Ham point of view) do you think? If they (current management) have decided he is not good enough and won't be good enough going forward, why have they not looked to sell him? A loan certainly works for us, in the short term, but slightly surprised West Ham have not insisted on a sale.
  10. Makes sense. Sell him for £10m and buy someone like Humphreys for about £1.5m and use the rest to cover wages/overheads/losses
  11. it will be very interesting to see who is dropped should he sign.
  12. They will accept a bid that meets their value. Is that not the whole point of a having a valuation? Deciding on a price that you feel is too good to say `no'. You seem to be unhappy about us selling players. Are we selling them too cheap in your eyes or did you expect us to say no to all offers and keep players like JWP?
  13. they don't seem terribly bothered about him leaving. Perhaps we ought to take a look at the fella Cameron Humphreys at Rotherham mentioned on that forum. He's highly rated there and a former Man City academy player!
  14. Not sure managers always give that kind of commitment. Like everyone else he will have to earn the shirt. Guaranteeing a start is madness. What if they don't play well? If a decent club came in for Bednarek, I'm sure he'd want the move, but Martin said they had only recieved a very low bid, right at the start of the summer and not heard anything since. So he's stuck here and I am sure he'll give his all.
  15. He's not injured any more, but certainly isn't match fit. I get the feeling we won't allow him to depart on the cheap, but if Dortmund come up with the money we have been asking, then he will go for sure. I dont think his current fitness will be an issue as long as he pases the medical. Dortmund will look at him as a fou year project and not be concerned about his ability to play in the next few weeks.
  16. City want £30m? Not a chance we spend that. Knowing the system and being comfortable with the ball at his feet is essential. He looks like he have the technical ability. Why do Swansea fans not rave about him?
  17. the highlights video shows a mix of classy dribbles out from the back, and first time defensive clearances, which kind of fits your description. It's a highlights video though, so who knows how good he is. If we watch Swansea goals conceded last year we might get a better idea. I'm sure there will be some fuck ups and defending that is questioned. He looks reasonably quick, reasonably big and strong and technically good. As with Manning, you do wonder why no Prem side has snapped him up, especially the promoted sides. Maybe they don't need a CB?
  18. someone scouted him? I thought he just turned up on our doorstep and no one had the heart to turn him away.
  19. Bednarek can only depart if someone makes an offer and we accept it. The window is soon to close, so will there be time for us to buy a new CB and play him in front of Bednarek - thus revealing to him that he might be second choice? With all these yellow cards it looks like there will be a few opportunities for second choice players in the first eleven.
  20. Looks a decent player. Small, quick, skillful rather than a physical number 9 type though. So I agree, he Doesn't feel like a natural replacement for Che unlike Piroe. If Tella departed, perhaps he'd be a good replacement for him. Slightly different position perhaps.
  21. Nothing odd about it. Piroe transfering to us makes logical sense. They don't want him walking for free either.
  22. he looks very composed. If his shot is saved, he seems very unflustered and just taps in the rebound. Not a lot to go on there though.
  23. Think Hearts fans were pretty annoyed at their European performance at Rosenberg the other week, so if you caught after that, I'd imagine all players were deemed shit. He scored in the return leg mind you.
  24. can you expand a bit?
  25. That what I saw in the Onuachu videos. Quality strikers don't need two go's. And you don't get them in the top flight. Get the feeling he extremely reliant on chances being created for him or does the video you watch suggest he can create and/or magic something out of nothing?
