getting the opposite

I remember Everton doing that in the centenary game in 1985 at the Dell and they won 2-3. Since then I dreaded seeing teams switch - we always seemed to struggle. Not sure we have had an issue at SMS though.
-
maybe we are talking about different chances, but for me you want your striker shooting when you get in the penalty box. I actually want my striker to be greedy
-
you dont pass there
-
all over them
-
how have we not scored there
-
you might be right. They have worked hard
-
Everton are relentless. We see to have no time at all on the ball. We've done well to create chances, but its tough. COYR

£15 for adults and £5 for nippers. Its like going back in time.
-
In addition to the FA cup Semi final nightmare, I always remember them spoiling the centenary game at the Dell winning 2-3...and always beating us at their place.
-
The 20m would tally. Lets hope so and its not Salisu. It would be nice if he signed new deal this summer and we got at least two more years AND a transfer fee should he depart.
-
jesus. How f**king annoying would that be.
-
Fair point. Nice to acquire new talent from a position of strength too. Although some of those might be here next season...
-
thats the spirit. We can beat anyone in this form. These chances (being a Prem side, playjng well, avoiding the biggest sides) don't come round very often... Let's not imagine ourselves as being better next year. Let's win now.
-
why didn't we sign them instead of AA then? Don't answer that. AA may become the answer himself. What I mean is though, despite the success of the scouting in recent times, there is no guarantee Broja's replacement will work out as well. Best to take advantage of him and win the FA cup this season. Let's get a trophy.
-
In a 46 game Football League Championship season this makes sense, but in a 38 game Prem season, with serious money for each league place, can a side like us afford to not pick our best side? There us value - millions` of quid in fact. When it comes to development', players like AA will still be training with the opportunity to improve. Missing some match days doesn't prevent development. It doesn't help, but you have to go with the hot hand. AA (and maybe someone like Tella) will have ample opportunity to both improve and impress the manager in training to force their way back in. But unless they have their confidence back, and looking sharp, they don't get the shirt back this season. A long summer and preseason and AA can come back a new man and earn that place again.

Abraham started well for Chelsea, but faded a little (or dropped out of favour) and Chelsea must have felt they could do better. Lukaka being the `better'. That perhaps is a good reminder that Chelsea eat at the top table. They are not interested in good, they are interested in CL winner. Will Broja help win them the league and the CL next season. That's the key for them. If not, he can go out on loan until he can. Note that Abraham has 17 goals already this season in a middling Roma side.
-
If, he is sent out on loan again, would Chelsea look for an alternative club to Saints, maybe abroad or in Europe, or do you think they will see another season in the Prem making more sense?
-
yes. The only thing that changes is there may be a little improvement in terms of cash flow, so we don't miss out on our first choice and perhaps an even greater emphasis on buying youth and potential. Broja is exactly the type we want, but we wont be signing him this summer on our budget and with the debt as it stands.

The Minsk Memorial Thread (and continuation of his work)
Chez replied to Minsk's topic in The Saints
Really sorry to hear we have lost another Saintsweb member. Thoughts to his friends and family. -
a very long time. They could easily have turned to shit or be acquired by another bigger fish.
-
I've not listened to it, but those thinking we would some how no longer be a selling club and have major funds to compete with bigger fish will be disappointed. We will be buying low and selling dear - same as always. Financially prudent, selling at the right time/price, preventing players leaving for free and a reliance on excellent scouting. No real change.
-
Not sure Chelsea sell to a rival. Although, are Arsenal a rival these days? If it wasn't already, I think the cat is well and truly out of the bag about how a good a player he is.
-
if it's one of ours, I wouldn't of thought it was someone out of contract this summer (as they would have known abut their intentions long ago - and this feels like a recent turn of events), it will be someone out of contract in 2023 or even 2024 that we have said we want to move them on in the summer, Djenepo, to recoup some of the fee we paid, or indeed offered a new deal, but they have said no. Salisu perhaps?
-
took the piss out of him all game. Love watching him, but every game he plays he adds a million or so to his price tag. When WBA had Lukaku, they must have felt the same.
