  1. is it me or is the vital `who?' element of the story missing here? Usually they'd say something like can't be named for legal reasons or such like, but perhaps this is just snews journalism at its finest.
  2. yet again we looked absolutely knackered after 50 minutes. We use so much energy retrieving misplaced passes and getting open in our own third of he pitch
  3. Once behind it was always going to be difficult. Terrible mistake by Hoedt. Thought we responded well and offered some threat, but we didn't take the couple of half chances we had. The second goal killed us, but showed the difference in the two attacks. They create a genuine chance and it is effortlessly finished, we struggle to do anything. How do you come back from 0-2 when you have burned a shed load of energy in the first half? Certainly MP and these players didn't know. Once Lamina went off injured it exposed just how slow, average and quite frankly lacking in stamina our midfield is. I guess everyone will blame MP for 'terrible' substitutions, but I don't see game changers on the bench other than Boufal and he was below par. It pains me to say it, but long ball down the channels might have been an option, especially when players get tired and cant get open.

My Forrest supporting brother in law would beg to differ. "Useless" would be his description and only the "£1m they wasted on McGoldrick" annoys him more.

certainly didn't make one against Chelsea. Didn't get remotely close enough to an opponent to make one.

    Daniel Fox

watched him play for Forrest a few months ago at Stamford bridge and he offers Forest exactly the same positives and negatives as we experienced. He still has a decent first touch that suggests he can play at the top level, still looks like he has a cultured left foot, but sadly he still pings the tough diagonal ball to no one rather than keep it simple giving possession away too cheaply. He still has zero pace of course, so drops deep so as to not get exposed, and overall he still leaves you utterly frustrated that you have him in your squad rather than someone better.

    Jack Stephens

he was actually 17 with half a dozen first team games at Plymouth and as you say, certainly not `one of our own'. Very good work by the club. Shame we haven't ventured more down that route, especially with the new agreement that allows Prem sides to pretty much steal players from the lower leagues for nothing. Quite a lot of risk involved, but if we are not securing the best talent at 13,14 or 15 then maybe we need to consider it.

    Lawro MOTD 2

could not agree more. They all see the exact same thing. Every time Redknapp and Carragher gave a comment yesterday it started with "I agree with Jamie...". MOTD is the same with Gary, Alan and whoever all agreeing time after time. What's required is a journalist or someone other than a player, that can speak well, that offers an alternative view or angle. It's got to the point now that I don't bother listening to anything they say before, during or after, nor in between highlights on MOTD. They offer next to nothing.
  9. he has, but thats what they bought him for though, not what he is worth now. I suspect the Foxes would want £50m at least.
  10. we do need players with a desire to get on the ball and make things happen. Boufal wants the ball, wants the free kicks, wants to get the goals, doesn't hide and when JWP scored was the first to run over and celebrate with JWP.
  11. when we lose, it only ever seems to be MPs fault. I know some of the managers want you to believe that results are down to them, usually when the team has won, as it helps to enhances their wages, but all this standing up and ranting on the sidelines is just a circus act has almost no effect on what happens on the pitch. The coach/manager is largely powerless...
  12. this is tongue in cheek right? Pellegrino gets a win and you credit it to Gao? If we lose next week will that side be selected by MPs? Sorry, sarcasm and sublety is becoming hard to spot in this pit of disspair
  13. Cedric gets a pass on here, but he was ****ing terrible in the first half. Crossing and passing were very poor. You are spot on that a cross in the second half was top notch and should have been buried by Long, but that doesn't excuse some of the earlier ****. We need more from Cedric.
  14. Learning from mistakes is good. How long did it take Koeman to get the right side in the second season?
  15. We parked the bus at City, which almost worked and he brought Yoshida on against Watford, which did work, but what other defensive tactics have been put in place? IMO his tactics are not overly defensive, we are just not very good at creating and taking chances.

    Jack Stephens

what a very useful post that is. Pretty much since Jhardi put on a Saints shirt we have been fantastic against the arial ball. We struggled a little bit when Yoshida first came into the side, he was far too nice and was often bullied. He improved, but has always lacked the size to win headers that he cant get a running jump to. Hoedt and Stephens are the same as Yoshid when he started...too nice, and lacking that physical advantage over their rivals. As footballers they are as good as anyone on the ball. They could probably run a game from midfield in the championship, they are that good, but without a ball winner we are always going to concede goals. The full backs don't help and we miss Pelle and Wanyama defensivley.
  17. Stephens was man marking Hegazi, so not sure what you are talking about.
  18. Stevens has to be stronger. Not just that incident but for all set pieces. Its a weakness that we havent had at CB for a long long time.
  19. What a fantastic result, just as everything seemed to turning to absolute ****. Great team selection, great tactics, great performance. Lemina was absolutely tremendous with or without his goal. I really don't want to acknowledge that WBA are bottom of the table as it will take the shine off things, and we haven't had a great deal to smile about recently. I will stick my head in the sand for a bit and think of how they stuff Liverpool last week. I feel a little bit sorry for those on here who seem to have made it their life's work to **** and moan about MP, so possibly can't enjoy it as much as I will tonight. Yes it hurts when Saints lose, but everyone at the club is trying their absolute best to win every game. Every now and then fans need to just consider that. Its their jobs, their careers, their lives. They care just as much as we do.

    GAO OUT!!!

Interesting points, but unless Marucs will left strict instructions on saints finance, it was Kat that bankrolled our promotions, so the concept of her dismantling what Marcus built is slightly unfair.
  21. the OP can boycott away. I could not give a flying **** if so called fans that make suggestions of boycotting games aren't at games. Turn up, don't turn up, whatever you feel, that's hus right and I respect it, but don't for a second think you are doing the club a favour. It's painful to watch Saints right now, but in my eyes boycotting is for truly dreadful states of affairs such as Gao placing £210m of debt onto the club, paying himself £20m a year and moving us to London. That is when you protest. That's when you boycott, not when the football becomes uninspiring and we don't have the quality in the final third to break down even the worst teams in the league, and thus face relegation. As I said, the OP can boycott away...other fans care just as much about their team but are simply made of sterner stuff.
  22. playing 12 might just be the answer
  23. Football club goes through spell of losing games and so fans (which amazingly enough is short for `fanatics') suggest boycotting games? Jesus H Christ.
  24. I didn't think we sign anyone, so I guess Carillo was a bonus (although that remains to b see). Not that I wouldn't have wanted us to sign a few. I think our squad is terrible. I don't think there is a single position that could not have been improved. Even the two fullback positions, which most regard as our strength, have been pretty average and are under zero pressure from their understudies. Sadly I think we are paying way way too much to what I would describe as average premiership players. Our wage bill is monstrous and big wages mean its pretty much impossible to reshuffle the pack.
  25. I've read some codswallop on here...
