  1. I seriously doubt an extra allocation will be taken.
  2. As I and many others on here suggested, the whole thing smacked of stories being fed to the papers to help obtain an extra year on the contract. Pretty standard practice and part of the `game' these days. If the club didn't get a call from United in the last two weeks, then they will have come to the same conclusion, which will perhaps sour the relationship a little between the two parties (club and agent). For once the club held the cards and having offered more cash to keep their employee happy they will expect great things of him over the next 23 months. Lets hope as supporters we see exactly that.
  3. Just seen that West Brom have signed Nyom from Watford, someone I regard as one of the worst premiership players I have seen at SMS in many years. I feel strangely happy with our own lot.
  4. How did Newcastle eve come to that valuation? You'd have to be mental to pay that?
  5. I have a vision of him with a piece of coal in his hand and a grimace on his face as he squeezes it as hard as possible...
  6. He's a very similar type of player to Austin. Whether you think that's a good or bad thing I'll leave that for you to decide...
  7. Has any club spent more on left backs?
  8. I wonder which Premiership sides would be interested and which would be considered by both him and Arsenal? I wonder also if there was any chance that the loan could become permanent.
  9. Does he have pace to burn?
  10. I honestly thought Les and Ross had gone to speak with his agent and then watch him one final time last week at Millwall, but I am not ITK that's for sure. Oh well, onwards and upwards. Excited about Boufal. Hope he can get up to speed quicker than Mane.
  11. Can't get Mark Draper out of my head for some reason. Yes I remember the tinman too.
  12. he's a genuine talent and well worth the investment. My Forest supporting mate thinks they have undersold him.
  13. The team can't be great forever. All clubs go through cycles. Just run with it. At some point there has to be some ying to all this positive yang. We've had for the last seven years. For anyone worrying, think on that We are about to live out one of our footballing dreams, even relegation won't take that experience away.
  14. Yes and they got a 45 minute demonstration to help with their purchase decision.
  15. absolutely spot on. Where on earth does everyone think all this news comes from? As much as we like to think the press make everything up, most stories come from sources and 9 times out of 10 that source is an agent. I don't think united were interested in Fonte or he was ever going there, it was just the `game' being played to try and get that extra year.
  16. Why didn't spurs go for Bolasie rather than Zaha?
  17. Wasn't Austin really the replacement for Pelle, it's just that Pelle changed his mind and we didn't want to risk missing out on Austin?
  18. In my eyes Cuco looked slightly awkward and dare I say it uncomfortable on the ball. He may have been perfectly in control and confident, but for me he never gave that impression. Defensively he didn't seem to do too much wrong though and that is after all what he's employed for, but fullbacks have to do more than hold an end up these days. Overall he was OK, but not exactly inspiring and far from the best we can do. It's the richest league in the world. We shouldn't need to accept `OK'. If they are not a great prospect or top notch already why are they at the club?
  19. interesting. As I have said many times on here, Targett's lack of pace is a major problem if he is going to play at fullback. Has Erkin got pace? I like the look of Baily Cargill at Bournemouth, but doubt he's on our (Puel's) radar.
  20. It will be Burke in, with JayRod going out on loan
  21. pace and power, tricks galore. Exactly the signing we needed to help forget all about Mane...wrong price bracket though
  22. I'd agree with that. The side lacks physicality and height. It's worth noting that Morgan and Wanyama used to win pretty much every single header in midfield. That sort of thing goes unnoticed a lot of the time, but its still an important part of the game no mater how much things have changed. Without them we don't win ball, don't have as much ball and in the end that effects the number of chances, control of the game and the result. If taking pillows and mattresses on away trips can make a difference, then extra height at corners has to come into play somewhere... Losing Pelle could also have an effect on us defensively from set pieces. He used to win a lot of headers in our own box, as did Ricky before him. We have hardly conceded in that area for years. Watch goals against (from set plays) creep in this season...
  23. in terms of trip to London, Forest are at the New Den tonight. Just saying like.
  24. Maybe we will also do that, but on the other hand...
  25. What exactly is the point of offering him a new deal? To keep him happy?
