with the new bumper (future) TV deal signed and in place, player valuations need to be hiked up again on the crazy money prices of last summer.

It tells me that Prowse is not yet quite good enough, as he is the one that often replaces him.
-
Thought Vic looked tremendous in the first half. Defensively we looked solid, and we at least stepped it up in the second half. That's it though. That's the end of the positive elements. I still don't understand why Long gets a game ahead of Mane or why Ward Prowse gets in the side right. Will,we ever win at Everton?
-
you weren't at Birmingham then for Jones' debut. One of the worst displays I have ever seen by a Saint. He looked miles out of his depth (admittedly he was very young) and highly unlikely to ever make it. Thankfully that wasn't the case, but it took a while before he found his feet and his best position. Of course the lower level of opposition (initially) helped too. Mane on the other hand was pretty experienced and hit the ground running straight away.

the way I see it...he missed some chances, then missed a few more, lost a bit of confidence, started snatching at chances, lost even more confidence, stopped shooting as often and the goals disappeared completely. In the last few weeks he has slowly been getting a bit of confidence back, enough to actually attempt to score. Obviously he has scored a few for Italy (perhaps the change of scenery has helped take the pressure off) and hopefully he will carry that form over to us. He may have missed chances for us in the last couple of games, but I've seen a slight change and with a bit of luck he'll get his goal this weekend. As it was with Ricky, when Pelle plays well everything seems to go through him and Saintt become a real handful.

Agreed, unfortunately he has been out of form for us and that shows up more in an England shirt. Don't get me wrong he's a decent player, but just like Walker his positional play isn't always perfect, but his pace gets him out of trouble. At the very top level you need to have both. That said his passing has just been below par. He looks a little nervous and unsure of what he is meant to do when he gets in the opponents half. He plays with more freedom for us (although maybe not recently) While I'm at it I'd like to say that I think Walker is also a good player IMO. Much better than given credit for at present. He has got caught a few times and these mistakes have been heavily punished and then highlighted on TV. That doesn't make him a bad player. I recall Alan Hanson tearing Bale apart on MOTD for poor positional sense on two occasions in a match and concluding he wasn't a good enough defender. He had made mistakes, but selecting a few incidents to sum up a player is not right. Every full back gets caught out at times, its just whether they get punished for that mistake (and then shown up for it on TV).

CLUB ACCOUNTS: 2013/14 - Saints reveal first profit
Chez replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Are you saying that the vibrac loan has been paid off? -
I am not supporting the original poster, I simply object to saints fans on here saying if you don't want to pay then **** off you won't be missed.

CLUB ACCOUNTS: 2013/14 - Saints reveal first profit

What is the total debt figure? -
That's the spirit. Any saints fan unable or unwilling to pay whatever the club request should just **** off. We don't need you, we don't want you, we don't like you. You ****ing poor person. Go on,**** off. Die, you cheap skate. Take it from me you won't be missed. No one missed me when I stopped going. But then again I'm a ****, just like Saint lindford.

Mason looks decent to me. Similar type of player as Noble, but perhaps better. Cork is a different style of midfielder.
-
I didn't know that. Good for him. We will have to make do with Wellbeck.
-
Bertrand has had a very good season, but Rose hasn't been too shabby either. Decent player if you ask me and seeing as almost every saint ****s off shortly after getting into the England squad I'm happy Ryan has missed out. As Wenger said, we all think our own wives are the most beautiful. As for the rest of the squad, id of been tempted to select Bollasie. From what I have seen this season he has been one of the most exciting players in the league. Terrifying pace, skills, direct powerful running. The end product is a little Wellbeck like, but nevertheless he makes things happen.

It's very difficult to get top class keepers to sit on benches as we saw with Boruc. I guess we could have forced him to stay and comply to his contract, but unhappy players can ruin dressing room harmony. Davis hasn't let us down all these years. He has constantly faced criticism on here even when making the pfa teams of the year. He isn't top class, he will make the odd mistake and perhaps be a little too slow, but he will do a steady job and that's more than can be said for Gazza. He won't be as good as Forster, obviously, but no point in crying about it. Let's get behind him. Gazza is not an option that bares thinking about. Woeful in the last set of games he got and totally **** of confidence needed at this level. It's going to be an interesting summer for keepers. I thought Gordon was a good option last summer. Not sure now, but with Davis contract up, Boruc more than likely off and Gazza being a long way short at least new keeper will be signed.

If Top Gear can find and use presenters other than Clarkson to present its different localised versions (US, Germany etc.) then I dare say it can unearth someone else to present the UK version.

sorry, bad maths. More like £216 a minute. Meh, I prefer the stat that he cost them £520,000 if £5k is accurate.
-
David Connelly cost £405 per minute played, which is based on 2397 minutes played, a £5k a week wage, receiving payment for the full 2.5 years, but Oxford paying all his wages during his six month loan. How accurate those assumptions are I have no idea, but what do I care?

get top four and it will be a very tough choice to leave in the summer, but he doesn't have to sign a new contract as the current one extends beyond the summer. He can walk for free when the time comes and we could nothing about it. Not having a transfer fee to pay means our offer should in theory be higher than the buying club, but then again the likes of Man City etc. have so much more money we can't really compete should they want him.
-
brilliant bit of work by the agent there. Hold off from talks, turn down the early contract offer, wait for contract to go into final year, place stories in press of interest from rivals, wait for revised contract and then when it comes start to negotiate driving a hard bargain using the increased TV income as the perfect reason.

I guess refs want to get into the bet possible position to make a decision, but like you say they have gone too far. Once a foul has been committed (unless a booking is taking place) the attacking side should be able to take it immediately. None of this wait for the whistle ********. GET ON WITH IT
