  1. they pay out early because those winning betters very often reinvest immediately in another bet. The quicker they pout the money back in the better pocket the quicker he gives it back to the bookie. Obviously if the wrong winner appears then it goes pear shaped, but they will have got back a fair amount of that wasted £500,000.
  2. I don't agree with that. He has tricks but he also delivers. We kept him very quiet at SMS, and you could say the same at their place, but we made a huge effort to do so and the management clearly identified him as their key player. Lallana worked his socks off to help Fox, and fix himself got much tighter than I have seen him do all season. Fox had one of his best games in a Saints shirt. Despite that Zaha still managed to get drop his his shoulder, have the pace and strength to get to the byline and hit a low wicked cross in that could and should have been buried. No matter how hard we tried we still couldn't prevent him coming up with that little bit of magic that created a guilt edge chance. And that's the point, in the Prem you are going to need attackers with more than just the run of the mill pace and tricks otherwise you end up with McCant out wide creating absolutely **** all. Zaha is a rare talent, the only thing that will hold him back is his attitude. He is too easily wound up. If he gets the protection from refs he needs and hasn't got IMO, then maybe he'll not lose his head so much.
  3. I've never understood the interest in Burke, another good championship player but not good enough to make the step up. Reminds me o McCann. Lacks that little bit extra you need at the top level. Redmond looks a far better option to me although not the finished article. He's going places. Mutch is a class act, again not the finished article, but he has the touch to play in the Prem. Taking these two would hurt brum fans the most as they are their future. Like buying Chamberlain and Morgan.

    Iago Falque?

simple, he was a panic signing as we were desperately short at the time. Any signing is a gamble, this one didn't pay off, but thankfully Nigel instantly recognised that he was lightweight and couldn't cut it out wide or in the middle so he didn't pick him. As for not sending him back. We perhaps had paid the fee so there was no point in sending him back. Nigels signings overall have been good. One or two strange ones like Jonno, but who can argue with a double promotion?
  5. she's on twitter. I've flagged it up and she glossed over it preferring to focus on publicising her part in this bill.
  6. great, we'll be able to see in real time the sport England cash, tax and charity money being spent on TBH's wages.
  7. Anyone seen Bas Dost play. He seems to score for fun in the Dutch league. I guess he's out of our league, just wondered like.
  8. I hope you are right. Stand out player of his type in the league. Caused no end of problems to fullbacks all season including our own. Doesn't feel like an Adkins signing, but I hope he is. Very exciting player to watch with tricks, pace and strength.
  9. I'm with you there. decent Championship player, but no more if you ask me.
  10. can you recall whether Swansea played 4-4-2 in the championship then reverted to one up front in the Prem? Wonder if we will look to do the same?
  11. Pilkington has pace and no matter what anyone says that is very important, especially out wide.
  12. West Ham won't go to the wall. Admin won't help them so the owners won;t get any of their investment back, so they will find another £17m to keep them alive next season. Blues on the other hand are ****ed if they don't go up.
  13. he wasn't the owner for the latest admin, it was CSI. I believe the league's test allows one football related admin on the CV.
  14. Nice. I am off to Japan this year for a holiday. Was going in September but might bring it forward to July. I'm sure the mrs won't mind!
  15. nice article about Terry Paine in When Saturday Comes with photos showing him in Saints kit including dark blue shorts. I think we should go for that colour again.

    Amarillo

still brings back a terrible memory, but reclaiming it has certainly helped. When we win our opening game of the Premiership and go top of the table I'm sure it will be sung loud and proud.

  18. and their £50m+ wage bill is always overlooked too.
  19. Zaha linked with Hofenheim for £4m.
  20. likewise. If the Blues don't go up they are ****ed and all their players are there for the taking.

  22. is he all that? He didn't cause us any problems at all. My Brummie mate thinks we are likely to go for him
  23. his representative stated he would at the recent creditors meeting, the delay is to see if anyone else throws their hat in the ring offering him a quicker return.
