what tactics had you in mind and tell me,`what if' we had used them, would the outcome have been different? -
How many tactical mistakes is Adkins allowed?

we didn't need a bit of pace and trickery up front? -
he packs the centre to try and keep the ball and stop teams waltzing through the middle. That leaves us open out wide. Spread us more thinly across the middle and we become exposed, er, down the middle. It's a catch 22. At some point he is going to have to trust the players to play 4-4-2 though. Either that or we go for a 4-5-1 (not a 4-3-3.

exactly what I was thinking. £8m to come with £3m disappearing fast from the bank account. By the time the new owner is approved and PKF paid off it will be closer to £8m than £11m. Perhaps we're wrong. I can't imagine the PST have budgeted for £11m of PP to compliment their property developer loan and pledges.

Championship sides simply weren't interested. Why on earth would you take a month contract (on "hardly anything" according to appleton) if there was even the hint of a 12 month contract elsewhere? if Forrest had wanted him they'd of signed him, the same goes for Bristol City.

just exactly how much PP money remains?

For me he's a centre midfielder and very scholes-like. Needs games though
-
I've seen him several times now for the first team and he looks a very good prospect to me. Decent first touch and not afraid to get on the ball. Big future if you ask me.
-
we just need to add the actual act of winning to that way of thinking.

an I just posted exactly the same thing and having just watched the highlights he certainly does. Not the only one at fault though. We give the ball away, thy waltz through our middle and then Richardson has to go with Jelavic.

lots of defensive mistakes yet again, but we give possession away cheaply further forward time after time and that's what leads to pressure and counter attacks that result in these mistakes. We have got to keep the ball better and for longer. I never liked the diamond, it left our fullbacks woefully exposed to the 2 on 1 attacks down the wing. The 4-2-3-1 does exactly the same. The problem is what can Adkins do? He could go to a 4-4-2, but we're conceding goals right down our centre so that perhaps won't help things. I know Gazza made some smart saves and but I thought he got his angles all wrong for the second and was too tight to his post for the third and got across his goal too slowly. I only mention this because Davis got a lot of stick for letting near post goals. Gazza has gone the other way. I always thought it was going to be tough. I struggled to see 3 sides worse than us at the start of the season, so I'm not too downhearted. But so long as we keep creating chances we'll win a few games that will keep us in the hunt.

Is Rodriguez right or left footed chaps?

what is the criteria that these fans base this conclusion on?

love seeing them have to turn to formers Saints that are well past their best . Natural order has been resumed.

shouldn't the skates give the FL the chance to turn Chinny down before berating them, or have the FL rubber stamped whilst I wasn't looking?
-
then why play Seaborne and not him at left back?
-
tough game for both sides. After tearing us apart last season at Elland Road its little wonder that they fancy their chances. They are weaker this season, but then again we'll probably not put our best side out this time and bringing in players that are not match fit or gelled as a side takes our edge. Should be a good game.
-
bloody long trip for a midweek game. How much is Bates charging Leeds fans these days. I recall the ticket prices being on the expensive side last time round. Elland Road evening cups games are usually pretty decent affairs mind. See no reason why we should rest too many. Let's try and win this cup. Silverware is what it is all about.

The vitriol on here towards out of favour players like Dickson is a shame. Why the hostility? He gave his all when given the opportunity. I have always liked him (especially his effort and willingness to get up and down) and without doubt (every Brentford fan would agree) that he was a top left back in league 1, so I see no reason why he could not proposer in the Championship, given a run in a side. I don't really understand why we have not let him go out on loan. Crawley/Yeovil must have offered a very low percentage of his wages otherwise surely it was in our interests. Mind you, they know we are not interested in keeping him so they perhaps offered a derisory figure which we were not willing to accept. I hope an agreement can be found as the current status quo is not good for any party. Could he have played yesterday as I don't see Seaborne as being good enough to play left back. Perhaps we were just giving him some fitness. Might be preferable to putting Dickson in the ship window.

there is at least one nutjob on there

what's this infighting within the PST all about or is it just Chinny bull****?
-
the songwriters missed a trick there

we should do our utmost to win it. Lots of quality like Mayuka, Rodriguez, Chaplow and Cork need games. Even resting many should still leave us with a strong side, if totally untried and lacking in game time together.
