terrible atmosphere. What the hell has happened to football in this country?
-
Don't agree with this at all. Guly had a very good game. He wasn't poor at all. He worked hard and kept the ball well. He beat players with some excellent tricks. There was one terrible pass in the second half, but other than that his passing was good. There was also one terrible long shot. A poor choice. But those two things apart I'm not sure what else he could be expected of him.

This is how I feel. Just don't understand how we ended up losing 4-1. West Ham were terrible. Worse than last season.

Totally dominated posession and played all of the football but we posed very little threat. when we had the opportunity to hit them on the break we were pondurous. Maya mistake for the second was woeful. i thought guly had a good game. one terrible pass second half otherwise very good. davis also played well. i thought clyne was not at his best.

Fee plus wages, which player has represented the biggest waste of money!
Chez replied to Nadia Sllim's topic in The Saints
£1.25m (sizeable at the time) and a hefty wage and we got just 23 appearances out if him over three long years. Ripley was slightly more expensive, but we at least got 53 games from him. Both were major wastes of money -
can't miss the opportunity as this always makes me smile

Delgado pushed hard by Mark Draper. -
interesting that they couldn't agree financial terms similar to Yeovil failing to agree terms for Dickson.

wonder if Supporters Trust CEO David Lampitt will still demand his money if the PST manage to get over the line?

been out all day, but I see that Southampton-based property developer has become the preferred bidder. Good luck to him. Anyone know if one of his companies bid for the fatpipe car park land?

they seem to be able to be able to make the Warrior pay its way. Very little to see on that IMO, yet still the tourist come year after year. I think people overestimate what a tourist requires. I know a guided tour of a real ship beats walking round a room with photos of ships. I've not been to the Titanic museum but I bet there is plenty of that. Pompey Historic dockyard has got a good thing going. If they added a modern day warship it wouldn't do any harm, but I dare say they have plans for something like that. Southampton can piggyback on what they do. Tourists to Pompey wouldn't have far to go to travel to see more great sea based museums in Southampton. And why wouldn't they? If the cities started trying to outdo each other pretty soon the South coast would become a major nautical tourist attraction, then when foreigner come over they might go from London to the south coast rather than the usual London/Manchester/Liverpool/Dublin kind of route. Southampton, like many cities up and down the country are seeing big companies shut down their offices and moving out of town or abroad. The council needs to stop relying on the football club to keep it on the map. A 20 year plan to make it the maritime centre of the world should be well under way by now. Instead of travellers only departing from Southampton they should be stopping for a day or two. But tell me what the hell is there worth stopping to see right now? A Saints game and a b-rate version of a West Ed show in the Mayflower? Money is tight. It always will be, but by the time the council realises that something significant needs to be done to attract money it will be too late. It's time to think big and the city will reap the rewards for decades to come.

Le Tissier: "Cortese is not a nice human being"
Chez replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Le Tiss telling people that Cortese is a **** isn't tainting him in my eyes. Taking the **** out of fans with the gambling **** did though. -

Mr Peach, any chance you could find out how much Cortese/SFC has loaned from Vibrac Corp, the terms of the loan and the reason why we've gone that route five minutes after our debt was cleared by the owners and ten minutes after Cortese said football clubs should not be spending future income? This is what journalists should be getting to the bottom of IMO. Hope you have more luck than I have getting Sibley to reveal anything. -
personally couldn't care less if it was scrapped or not, but wouldn't Southampton waterfront be a great tourist spot if the Titanic museum had been located by the wayer and perhaps the QE2 was located close to it and opened to the public? You could add a sailing museum of some sort and maybe a dockyard museum...

I just got back from a holiday in Japan. I concur with the earlier poster, it is expensive.

as a photocopier salesman I guess your next rung up the ladder is trying to acquire a football club

ice cream seller sized assumption

what would you benchmark be? Dodd was one of the players you used as an example and he didn't come through our youth system IMO as he was signed from Bath at the age of 19. Ignore. Just seen you post above.

I would have thought the FL will keep the two decisions very separate. Does Chinny pass the FAPPT? If no, then it's back to Birch to find another buyer.

Hancock's to busy ****ing potential russian spies to give a **** about the football club. Tokenist if ever there was one.

of course. Well they are all set and ready should the need arise. I suspect the skates will prise a little deeper than they did when Al Mirage grabbed the reigns
