  1. I'd of thought our average attendance would be right on estimate, but having been top or there abouts they might have hoped for more.
  2. I'll be there, not for any of those reasons, but I have a season ticket, just think that begging for support is a bit cheaky seeing as the club treats some of its fans with contempt.
  3. perhaps if they had made season tickets a bit more attractively priced, not screwed over the 60-65 years olds with a 73% price rise and not continually ****ed people off with various parking fees, tickets taxes, higher walk up prices, making people travel to collect bus tickets, not putting tickets on sale the day after a home games etc. etc. then there might be the odd extra bum or two on seats? I doubt all these things add up to 1000s but when its a bit cold, the side hasn't been turning sides over left right and centre for a while and maybe cash is a little tighter than normal you can bet you bottom dollar it doesn't encourage them. Having said all that, in a standard league game, Derby are just not all that attractive opposition. The floating supporters that go to 4 or 5 games are just going to wait for better.
  4. wasn't there a big argument during the summer about the price of our season tickets and the clubs seemingly lack of desire for people to buy season tickets full stop, an idea put forward on here because they possibly felt the demand for higher priced individual game tickets would be high thereby making them more money overall. Who knows if that was true but I wonder how that is working out?
  5. I was thinking more along the lines of Darling: Sir, my case is very simple. I call my first witness, General Sir Anthony Cecil Hogmaney Melchett. Darling: General, did you own a lovely, plump, speckily pigeon called Speckled Jim, which you hand reared from a chick and which was your only childhood friend? Melchett: (hysterical) Yes! (calmer) Yes, I did. Darling: And did Portsmouth Football Club shoot the aforementioned pigeon? Melchett: Yes, it did! Darling: (shouts) Can you see Portsmouth Football Club anywhere in this courtroom? Melchett: (overwrought, pointing his finger at Andriod) YES, THAT'S THEM!!! THAT'S THE FOOTBALL CLUB!!!!! AAHHHHH AAAAHHHHHH!!!!! Darling: No more questions, sir. Melchett: Very good, excellent, first class. Carry on. I therefore have absolutely no hesitation in announcing that the sentence of this court is: that you Portsmouth Football Club be taken from this place and shot to death by shooting tomorrow at dawn. Do you have anything to say? Lumpitt: Yes, can I have an alarm call, please?
  6. he looks fitter now than at any point in his Saints career and I'd bet his whole career too.
  7. very interesting. They massively overvalued the squad last time. I think someone at HMRC needs to take some advice on realistic players values. I wonder if they re based on the selling price whilst in the current predicament or if they were stable. There is no such thing as stable. I'm sure the skates would disagree, but here's my best guess. Not sure about the value of the ground. I'm sure someone else can help there. Jamie Ashdown £100,000 Stephen Henderson £700,000 Joel Ward £1,000,000 Ricardo Rocha £0 Jason Pearce £1,000,000 Greg Halford £200,000 Tal Ben-Haim £0 Adam Webster £100,000 Aaron Mokoena £0 Liam Lawrence £800,000 Hayden Mullins £300,000 Erik Huseklepp £300,000 Kelvin Etuhu £0 David Norris £0 Marko Futacs £900,000 Luke Varney £1,200,000 Dave Kitson £600,000 Benjani £0 N****wo Kanu £0
  8. who the **** watches Meridian News?
  9. Rivaldo on the way to the Bucherest game.
  10. I agree that McGoldrick and Surman are possibly stretching the kids thing, but they were still young and relatively inexperienced. Neither were kids, but neither would have started 40 odd games in a normal side. Drew played centre midfield for large parts of the season, showing how massively short we were. Schneiderlin had 5 games to his name, cost £250,000 and was just 19. He was a kid. We did pay money for him, but he would never have played in 30 games in a normal championship side. I guess we could have spent the money on alternative wages, but his wages were low because he was a kid. Cork was also a nipper. He might have been a loan, but he was a low cost loan because he was young. The same applies to Robertson and Pekhart. Cheapest possible loans to fill the side out. We were so strapped for cash we resorted to loaning out other kids that will have come wothout fees or maybe even wages. Holmes was signed on a free. He was discarded by Derby because he was injury prone and rubbish (in my eyes). No one wanted him and we picked him up to fill the side again. Not a chance we outbid Leeds in terms of wages. He was 19. Blimey yet another old head. Lallana played 101 minutes the season before in 5 sub appearances. He was a kid. A good kid, but a youngster nevertheless. I think his 40 games really ought to appear in the stats. So lets add Cork, Lallana and Morgan back into the total along with Pekhart and Robertson. You can have Holmes, McGoldrick and Surman. So that's 269 appearances from the 671 which = 40% So that's 4.5 kids a game. So yes not exactly a youth team, but with a further 216 appearances (32%) from young players like Surman and McGoldrik, that leaves just 28% of the squad taken from senior pros. We turned to cheap youth, make no mistake about it.

  12. you do realise they packed the park tonight so will have brought in a small fortune.
  13. Derby losing at home won't do any harm.
  14. several thousand skates still in the ground protesting. Keeping those floodlights on longer won't help the leccy bill.
  15. Adkins sounded disappointed with just a point.
  16. and that is exactly what should happen if a club goes into admin. They should have to deploy other members of staff to play before they can employ any new players. No new members of staff should be allowed in any capacity ensuring `players' don't sneak in through the back door.
  17. Fat **** blames the officials and moans about missed pens. No mention of our own missed pens of course.
  18. Cov won tonight so go level with the skates. Forest need to sack the clot
  19. Hull game was last of their 4 for £44 offers
  20. 6370 empty seats at **** park.
  21. Nice first touch, and a great attitude, but that's it. Not good enough and never was. When we were struggling to avoid going bust I could just about live with it, but not now. Never anything but a great professional, but there is no room for sentiment in professional football. Best of luck to him.
  22. don't we do exactly the same?
