  1. with all these renewals and few likely to leave it means there is going to be very little turnover of players. A settled squad is going to help us, but I can't half think that we need to sign two or three that really are going to improve us. But where are we short on bodies?
  2. Appearances Martin 12 Butterfield 37 Harding 43
  3. Total headless chicken. All the pace you could want but does absolutely **** all with it. Forte looks a better player to me.
  4. There are two relatively new blocks right next to **** park and they can't sell any of those ugly orange flats so little point in building new ones at this point.
  5. this is mine
  6. I got the feeling Nigel sometimes selected centre backs based on opponents. Big forward = Jardi, pacey forward = Seaborne. He took Jaidi off early in the Bristol Rovers game specifically because the forward was pacey. A wise move as it turned out as we kept a clean sheet.
  7. doubt Stuart Pearce will go a **** about the locals, he wants to win the tournament so will pick the best 23 he sees fit.
  8. I assume that the results from any discussions by the Chairman will be brought in starting in two or three years from now?
  9. Another cracking game. Perhaps they should make these play offs one legged affairs. Hard luck to the Cherries. What an amazing season they have had. How on earth they managed to last the course having had strikers and manager taken from them is beyond me.
  10. I never want to hear that ****ing song ever again so long as I live. Having said that I love what you've done there.
  11. He's been outstanding this season. He's slow and he gets knackered before the end of games, but boy have we been good at defending set pieces since he joined us and I don't see that changing next season. As most goals come from set pieces and failure to deal with long balls having a unit like him is essential.
  12. Not sure Dyer was stand out, lots of blind alleys for me, but you could chuck in another Saint in Gary Monk to that list of Saints. Mind you McGoaldrought still stands around like a 40 year old playmaker until he is subbed
  13. four ****ing years? He was released by Derby FFS and widely regarded as lightweight with no end product yet we offer him four years. Madness.
  14. remind me how many goals Holmes has scored for us?
  15. he played 6 times for Saints, but then again he did go unnoticed in a couple, especially at Plymouth.
  16. exactly how I saw it. I'm not suggesting we could sign some of these Premiership players banded about on the HCDAJFU thread, but I do wonder if there might be better available than Stephens. I know he will be a Saint, but we do sign poor players now and then. I was one of those slating the Pulis signing before we got him based on a few sighting for other clubs, but then again I thought N'Guessen would have been decent for us (admittedly he got less game time than Stephens) so what do I know.
  17. Could not disagree more with this comment. He was poor.
  18. he did nothing in that game. He was absolutely woeful in the first half (our worst player IMO) and only marginally better in the second. I don't have a problem with you saying you need to give a youngster more time, but he was poor in the games he did play no matter what your stats might suggest.
  19. I don't have any issues with Morgan. He's a class act and as you say has come on a great deal. He's much stronger and he seems to fancy a tackle now. Chaplow will hopefully comeback into form, but even when he struggles his workrate makes up for it. Hammond has been excellent for the vast majority of the season, but his lack of pace concerns me. Perhaps that holding role he has played more often than not covers that lack of pace. Stephens is my concern. OK so we should never judge a player so quickly, especially a young player, but he just looked so lightweight, slow and lacking in first touch. I love the fact we've gone for promising youngster with massive potential, but is he the right one? Hope so.
  20. he's shined two years running in the Prem. Why on earth would he drop down a division to a side just promoted from the third tier? Mental.
  21. wants at least £17k a week from Forest hence they have yet to offer him a deal.
  22. You want that skate judas **** back here?
  23. I'm Morgan's biggest fan but he has a bit to prove at that level, Chaplow didn't pull any trees up at Preston and had a huge drop off in form after xmas for us so there are a few doubts there, Hammond hasn't really shined at that level as far as I know and there is no chance Stephens is wanted by Everton based on what he has done for us to date.
  24. not sure there was much difference between the Antonio that came and the Antonio that left, oh at Stephens isn't going to leave Oldham for a one year deal with us.
