so you are comparing McGoldrick with MLT and Shearer, two of the best Premiership players ever? Tough audience. Let me remind you that that MLT, BT and others have all struggled for any sort of consistency in their earlier years. McGoldrick is no Shearer but I still think he shows promise and should be given more leeway by fans. I personally will continue to back him and with a bit of luck he will prove you all wrong.

heard nothing all week except the need for Saga. He did **** all by the way, yet its McGoldrick that is still slated. Get off the lads back. He's 22 and only 30 games into his Saints career. Great result today, thought we deserved that little bit of luck tha turned what could easily have been a defeat into a win. After stuffing Reading and only getting a point I think we deserved a change of fortune. Great days. Perhaps if more travelled away from home and saw us win then this board would be a better place for it.

Excellent? Don't make me laugh. He's twinkled his toes Anders Svensson like and then done next to nothing anders svensson like. His work rate is spot on but end product? Still waiting. I need to see a shed lot more from him before I start using the term excellent.

I see Skacel has an `injury'.
-
Bentner and Lita up front, Dailly and Saeijs at the back, Schneiderlin and Pele in the middle, Surman and Lallana on the wings. Now that's Dreaming...
-
Steve appears to be on the money (these Titchfield lads talk a lot of sense you know). He's one of the few pundits that says it how he sees it (and he watches a lot of local games) rather than just regirgitating the same old ****.
-
did they also think he was not good enough?
-
I agree, another big centre half instead of Perry and a right back that can win things in the air. We might then stop shipping goals from set peices. I also agree we need a target man. Saga does nothing for me. But why on earth would we want Wotton back in the team?
-
you rate him as highly as me then.
-
that's the impression I got. With the `player wages' advert in the Echo you'd think that they were working to get rid of Euell, Saganowski and Skacel. But they will look to replace them with cheaper versions if possible. I think another CB wouldn't go a miss. I'd also like to see defensive midfielder that can actually control the football (ie not Gillett) as we are lightweigth with the non tackling Surman and Schneiderlin. The entire right side could also do with a revamp IMO. There is not a right sided midfielder at the club making 4-4-2 difficult unless we play attackers like Smith or BWP.

He has been carrying it for weeks. Shame he misses out this week though. We need to get him back in the side and get our passing game going.
-
Not neccessarily. If he plays then we can't offload him to a European side - which might be essential financially.
-
and this one is the best yet.
-
don't let a few poor games when he was struggling with an ankle injury disguise the fact that he has run his heart out for the side showing great ability at the same time. When you take quality ball players out of the side you end up with the total ****e we showed against Manure. As soon as he is fit he is stright back in for me. Quality player that should be in the middle not out wide.

Davis James , Perry , Saejis , Molyneux Surman Gobern, Scheiderlin Skacel BWP Saganowski

he misses Donny not Barnsley - see end of this news item: http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/news/?page_id=11182

any ideas if he will be fit for Saturday?
-
is it just me or are these wages incredibly low considering the size of our losses in the last accounts? We were losing £1.2m a month last year. I expected John to be on close to £20k himself.
-
I agree with your comments about Gobern and Mills, but I'm not sure I can write off Lancashire just yet. An awful lot of centre backs get better with age and besides he has hardly had ten games in a run yet.
-
I almost swallowed my tongue when I read that. And there's me wishing we were back with the big boys.
-
there was effort, but a complete lack of ability in all positions meant we got nowhere.
-
I like his effort but he quite simply doesn't have any cutting edge.
-
Smith is ****e, Holmes is pants. The more they become regulars the more likely we are to go down.
-
blast I had my "is Riley playing for them tonight" line at the ready
-
For me I'd like to see Patterson up the middle with BWP. Height and pace. With players like Holmes and Smith as our supply line I don't see too many chances though. Neither are anywhere near good enough. If Saga plays he will get my full support but if things don't work out you can bet it won't be his fault.
