Yeah, agree. I'm not blaming the club or Hughes specifically. It's a shame if back-up keeper is/was higher on the priority list. My opinion is that we really needed to start the season with a bit more up front than the same strike force as we had at the end of the January 2017 transfer window. It's amazing to me if we don't show some intent here.
-
Interesting that is their first signing of the transfer window. Just imagine the meltdown on here.
-
The only thing that keeps you off this forum is a sustained period of success for the club. For that reason I fear you'll be stinking the place out all season.
-
We finished 7th and 6th and it is fu ck all to do with Cortese. I know you have it but it was brilliant. You were absolutely nowhere to be seen on this forum during that time of course.

Who the hell chooses the moderators around here now ?

I don't know what Galaxy the mods are in in any more. The forum like something from Mars. It's unbelievable some of the Flakes they let post here now, I imagine just there to Boost the numbers. There are some decent contributors still, like Turkish. Delight is what I feel when he writes something. But this forum used to be better. Some days it was All Gold. Now the good posters are going down like Skittles. Now what has it come To? Bler. One thing to look forward to is the new season, let's hope everyone is Kinder. Surprise if it turns out like that though. Tempers fray when it comes to the Crunch. ie if we lose on Sunday. But it's hope we beat them and maybe things will be sweeter. -
I don't want us to panic buy. In January we identified the need for an additional striker that was significant enough to break our transfer record. We let that player leave in the summer. I expect us to replace that striker. If we needed someone of £20m calibre in January surely we need similar now. This should have been worked on all summer because we have a black box where e monitor multiple targets for every possible position. Signing them in the end of the window needn't be a panic, just the sharp end of negotiations. If this is really our squad for the season then we've all got something to panic about.

There isn't a football club on earth that makes progress every single year so pretty ridiculous to expect that. Good luck Burnley for the season ahead.
-
Well, that's depressing.

Has the La Liga season started already then?

Saints vs Borussia Mönchengladbach - Match Thread

It's a shame Les Reed has been marginalised and not involved in first team matters anymore because otherwise I'd have said that this shambles is his fault. -
No one anywhere thinks Corbyn is an inspiring leader? No one thinks he is on the march to Downing Street to be the next Prime Minister? No one thinks he can do no wrong? You don't watch much news or read much news then. Or read pro-Corbyn media like The Canary. Odd really as you went out of your way to challenge my contention that he will never be Prime Minister. Changed your mind now then? Well done you if so.

Isn't it weird that a leader of the opposition could be so clearly ahead in the polls against an incompetent Conservative party? Because some people seem to think that the current leader of the opposition is perfection in human form and is inspiring the nation and riding a wave of unstoppable popularity into Downing Street. I don't, of course. I think he's a fu cking useless old cu nt.

A real shame for them. As anyone with only a passing knowledge of this forum will be aware nothing can destroy a football club like the dreaded Glasgow Kiss of death. Season after season his annointed heroes go on to stink the effing place out. I can't remember them all but highlights would be Norwich winning the transfer window with Ricky Van Wolfswinkle - FAIL Stoke City will always be a level above SFC - FAIL Everton Everton Everton can do no wrong - FAIL The Watford Silva revolution - FAIL But In fairness to the lad I think he's on to something this season. Andros Townsend is truly world class, no doubt. Last season in the league Benteke scored goal after goal after goal. And all those three goals were vital. So don't panic, Palace fans. This time the Glasgow Kiss could be blessing and not the usual indication that your season is going straight down the sh it pipe.

Just googled and put into Twitter "Inter Milan right back Southampton" and zero results. Zero. But, yeah, heavily linked.

Somehow, I can't quite envisage the grand wizard of the Klu Klux Klan enthusiastically endorsing the election of Yvette Cooper or Liz Kendall as Labour leader.

The so called experts premiership predictions for 2018/2019
CB Fry replied to Pilchards's topic in The Saints
Last season half the bloody league was weak. Why is this season going to be any different. So weird people get so carried away with the transfer window. Spoiler alert: half the league will be a load of old dross and three quarters of these players that are being signed for twenty odd million will be sh it. -
You not got anything from Squawkbox or The Canary, sweetheart?

Could Southampton mount a World Cup 2030 bid?

Me too. I'm starting to think he's never going to take affirmative action on the anti-semitism in his party.
-
Absolutely. It's unthinkable that any politician alive or dead could do a better job than Jeremy Corbyn is doing right now as Labour leader and Leader of the Opposition. He's simply stunning.
-
Bless. How could anyone possibly improve on perfection?
